Awesome. I've been wanting one of these for ages, but unable to justify the 20-25 quid eBay prices.

No don't think so as the 360 remote and possibly harmony used infra red (IR), the receiver is for the 2.4ghz wireless controllers

... for pc have a look for remotes with usb IR recievers.... found this on ebuyer

£8.33 with super saver delivery... though you may find something similar cheaper (this was just first google shopping result)

i got one of these on launch....

So you know, these are good, IF they work.

BUT!.

ignore the promises of wireless racing wheel force feedback support, that has been promised (and was the only reason i bought it) since launch in early 2007, and - last time i looked - still isnt supported.

ALSO

around 50% of onbord usb controllers struggle with these. of my 3 pc's - all with different chipsets, to get it to work i had to unplug everything, reboot the pc with just the controller in, then plug everything in again EVERY TIME i wanted to use it :( if i didnt the pads couldnt see the device

once that was done it worked as promised with the normal wireless pads.

using an external powered usb hub however it works fine (i use my xbox 360 HDDVD drive.

so if it works in your chipset, or you have an external powered usb and you want it for a control pad, this is a great piece of kit, if not tho its a pain in trhe as, or if you want force feedback racing on your pc, look elsewhere (the wheel does work, just not FF)

still, voted hot as it is good when it works.

I have one of this and it's great.

Just a few tips for people that are getting this.

1. When you plug this to your PC you need to install drivers the first time, this comes with a CD so no problems. With VISTA is recognised pretty much straight away and does it all for you.

2. Once is all set up you need to configure your wireless controller to work with this. It's pretty straight forward
a. Unplug your XBOX 360 in case is within range otherwise the controller will pair with the XBOX instead.
b. Turn the wireless controller on press the big button
c. Press the button in the receiver
d. Press the small button at the front of the wireless controller (this is the same that you use to set the wireless controller with another XBOX 360)

You can use up to 4 controllers or devices in your PC with this so it's brilliant.

Also most of the recent PC games (Terminator Salvation, Need for Speed Undercover, Transformers 2, etc) work with this controller perfectly and I really mean perfectly. Is so good that the instructions on screen tells you to press A, B, Y, X, RT, etc, in the same way the XBOX 360 does. And you can use the analog pad to move the mouse arrow. So it's well worth it.

With Terminator Salvation works perfectly even on the split screen with two XBOX 360 controllers.

Highly recomended. I had this for about a 6 months now, I managed to get it a ex-display or returned one for £8 from PC-WORLD.

I had simliar issues, my PC has a front LCD display which is USB and for some reason everytime I want to use the adapter I have to unplug that LCD screen, otherwise it keeps making a sound like when you plug a USB device, and then unplug it.

But that is the only one that I had to unplug, everything else is fine. I have have a lot of USB things.

So I would say plug this and if you get that problem, just unplug one by one the others USB things until you find the one that conflict with this. You only do this once, after that you will know and problem solved. Overall this is a fantastic item.

It really is great once it's working, had a lot of problems at first.
Wish there was a simpler way to turn the pad on without my 360 booting though.

Good product, if your machine is compatable. My system is relatively new, I bought this product from Gamestation but my system failed to recognise it, it wouldn't start at all. I tried everything, even contacted MIcrosoft and spent hours searching the web for a solution. Turns out these adapters are very picky when it comes which system they'll work on, it's hit and miss. If it works, great, if not then you're just unlucky.

A tip once you have this, use xpadder to map controls. If you don't, the deadzones make it impossible to play
#20
Anyone know why they stopped selling these at normal retail outlets?
