These things are selling on ebay at around £28.00, so get it while you can!!

Bit About The Controller:

Nintendo's WaveBird isn't the first wireless controller ever brought to market, but it's much better than what came before.
the Wavebird--with the same control features of the regular controller, but with wireless game play up to 30 feet. The Wavebird wireless controller comes complete with two AA batteries and Wireless Receiver.

This will work with the wii and will work from quite a distance away definately not 3 foot lol :giggle: In my opinion is better then the official gamecube controller....having said this it is now sold out at amazon :-( Did manage to get 2 second hand ones from Gamestation for £4.99 each!!! madness
#18
You can use this controller within 20+ feet of the console without problems. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WaveBird

This item has been out of stock at Gamestation (any many other UK retailers) since 6+ months and won't be back in stock.
If you need a good GC controller get this one before it's sold out completely.
#24
Thanks OP, gone for one :)

If you want to use it on your Wii and you are technically minded, you can do a stealth install! I'm currently considering it for mine.

and why do people go to so much trouble and effort and maybe ruin their wii - so they can have a wavebird controller installed with no dongle on the outside??

its not worth the effort as far as i can see.
#33
Exactly - looks a bit of an overkill in my view

Aesthetics! Nothing more and nothing less :p

I did the same with my Xbox for the DVD remote and the chip switch, before I painted it all up. Some people mod cars, some paint, some play chess. Horses for courses, something to do in your spare time innit. Anyway the info is there if anyone fancies it :)

The reach is way way longer than 3ft, I use mine 7 ft away.
