Yes you can re-use the old Wii equipment on Wii U. Works perfectly on the Wii U for allowing more players to join.

One thing to note about re-using old Wii controllers: most modern games that support Wiimotes expect them to have the Motion Plus module. My old Wiimote didn't have this do I picked up an add-on module from CEX for a fiver.

Thanks jc. What's the add on module?

Heated up, I needed to get one recently to replace an aftermarket one that eventually failed and it was about £16 on amazon.

Buyers should consider looking on gumtree for complete systems, I picked up a complete Wii kit with two controllers, nunchuks, sensor, cables etc and ten games for just £40. I was lucky and had been looking for a while, but for not much more than the normal cost of a couple of nunchuks I blagged the whole set, albeit used. The console and accessories were deemed to be spares but inevitably they'll end up in the kids' bedroom.

been needing a black nunchuck to go with me latest wiimote.

Thanks, heated. Needed an extra one now the Wii is in kids room. Got a black one to go with my Wii U, mainly for playing COD, Pikmin and the odd Wii game.

Was going to get a 3rd party one but may as well buy official at this price.

Off topic - beware with Game online. they shipped me out unofficial 3rd party wiimotes and nunchucks. Also reluctant to take it back when returning in-store.

Thanks - ordered 2 white. Heat added.
