This product is exclusively for use with the PlayStation 3 system. This remote control uses Bluetooth wireless communication to operate playback of Blu-ray Discs (BD) and other types of disc media on the PlayStation 3 system.

That's the description anyway, I saw that this is £13.99 from 7DayShop and that's a good price, it's possible to get it a little cheaper.

By getting a 15% off code from http://www.rewardyourthirst.com/Register.aspx it's possible to save £2.39 and pay £13.56 instead of £15.95. It seems that the codes will run until March 31st, so plenty of time to get as many codes as possible (you can get virtually unlimited codes using the fake email/friend refer system).

I'm not sure if the codes can be used with other potential '£1 off £10' type codes.

Please amend your title and price to the actual price, seeing as those 15% off vouchers no longer work.
And at that price it is more expensive than amazon, at £14.99:

Cold from me.

I actually regret getting this. EVERY button on it acts like a power button for the console. Accidentally knock it, drop it, put something on top of it and BEEP, you've switched on your PS3, and have to wait 2 minutes before you can turn it off. Gets very annoying very quickly.

100% agree with this. It needs a dedicated power button to prevent accidentally switching it on. Nudging the remote on the table causes it to press a button and then your Playstation jumps to life and you've got to wait and switch it off. Even just picking it up you sometimes accidentally press a button.

is there an alternative remote?

@ morocco and mandles i also 100% agree. Why o why did sony allow for any button press to turn your ps3 on? my ps3 remote resides in a draw now and will probably never see the light of day again because of this.

logitechs
or theres a new offical one been announced, this is bvery useless in my opinion and even my parents would sooner use a controller
#13
prolly go for one of the harmonys then so i can controll all my media from one
#14
Typical of Zavvi to stop the promotion. I managed to get one at the 15% off price, guess they caught on that the system was exploitable and blocked the codes.

Sorry :(

If you are looking at a harmony just be aware that whilst it is a fantastic piece of kit (I have the Harmony one) you have to pay another £50 on top for an adapter to allow it to control a PS3 - poor show

I use a move navi controller, dunno if it does everything needed, but it rewinds, fast forwards, pauses and plays - that's enough for me

It's a shame because other than that stupid error, which I bet could've been solved with a FW update, it's an excellent remote, good build quality and clear set out with excellent access to the necessary functions.
