Official PS3 Wireless Bluetooth Headset for £17.99

Cheapest i've found so far if not the only place that i've found selling it on it's own.

If, like me, you dont fancy getting the Socom game and want the headset on it's own the this is spot on.

Don't forget 4% Quidco aswell.

Cheers

Or with Socom for just £12 more minus £3.30 Quidco
#2
Is also with SOCOM available from Game, using the £3 code, reward points and quidco is a good option too.

I was in two mind with Socom anyway, thats just changed my mind to just get the headset, thanks Mary CD. Thanks OP for the deal!

Going by what the beta testers of Socom have said about the game so far (very negative) I would buy this separately as the game looks like it will be in the bargain buckets after a couple of weeks..

Not sure what you're talking about, the negative comments are coming from people complaining about bugs...even though its a beta.

The game is incredible. Im having alot of fun.

Sorry dudes but I had to vote this cold. The SOCOM deal from Game worked out (with quidco & voucher) only about £8 or £9 more. SOCOM the download (no headset) is currently available on the PSN-U.S. for $39.99, so I guess it will be £19.99 here.

If you don't like the game I'm sure you would get more than £8 on fleabay...even the bargain bin isn't normally that cheap. Of course you have the hassle of selling it but at least you would have given it a go.

Most ordinary bluetooth headsets work fine on PS3.

There is a specific HQ setting on the official headset that improves voice comms. Also, as it is offical, updates will be made specifically for this too.

Many peopl ewill be getting the game bundle, so I would expect the game's re-sale value to be very, very low

well, I added my 9 degress worth of HEAT

I think this is a great price (same as the Geotech one) but as mentioned above, is a better headset. Don't need yet another war game (already have Haze, COD4 and will no doubt get COD5 when it's released) - so this is a good deal.

I have tried 2 bluetooth headsets on my PS3, both paired, but neither would work in COD4... hopefully the official headset will. It can also be used as a mic and has a nice mute button.

:)

I also think a lot of the problem is people are trying to play it like COD.

Great price. Well i assume it's a great price don't see anywhere else selling it on it's own so i can't compare!

However, I had a £5 off voucher game sent me for messing up one of my orders last month, so for only 24.99 i got SOCOM and the headset.
After the reviews, and the fact not everyone wants the game, Socom (solo game minus headset) is selling for well over £20 on ebay. After i get my quidco and points back from game, i'll end up getting the headset for free!

Heat added

ud be better getting the socom deal for 26.99 advertise don here on another post,a preorder of socom the game only has just been sold for 27.00 on ebay so if u get the bundled deal and just sell the game you can practically get the headset for nothing
#12
But that will settle down once its released. Someone I know is selling their US version of the game on its own on ebay and is up to about £25. Once the game is in stores here, the price will drop drastically.

I cancelled my pre-order of the bundle from Play and just pre-ordered this on its own as I really didn't enjoy the beta and have no real desire toplay the game

Howver, it does work out at £13 for the game

Ordered this morning, using a £5 voucher from Quidco :-)

Lol, it will not be £20 here. Probably £30 as us Europeans get ripped of compared to the US.

You are so right. I've have yet to understand why anybody would buy & download a game off PSN when they are cheaper on BluRay disc (eg Burnout Paradise, Blood Siren...all cheaper in the shops).

I also say get the game. Not just yet as there Far Cry 2, Dead Space and Little Big Planet to get through first but Socom after Christmas will be a nice change.
#17
if i order now does that mean that if they up the price before release i have to pay the increased price?

I don't think so. I've dealt with many an on-line store and that has never happened.
I would like to say that Play.com seem very professional in their operations (certainly with me anyway) so I would say this won't happen but you need to look at the terms & conditions.

Not to mention Resistance 2 & Motorstorm although I will wait for the latter to be seriously reduced in price before purchase.
I do agree that after Little Big Planet and Christmas, you will probably need to go on a killing spree :santa:

As a footnote, I've just seen more realtime video of this game and I have to say that I think it looks good. I just hope they iron out the bugs with the lag and I still think for £8 extra (after quidco & voucher) the game+headset package represents the best value.

It's known fact that the regular CoD players who haven't played SOCOM before won't like it.

SOCOM is lot more realistic in terms of tactics and movement and teamwork. The PSP version was one of the best online shooters I have ever played (and yes that includes CounterStrike).

Horses for courses I suppose, I was bored of CoD 4 after about 6 weeks traded it in for MGS4 which was a good decision.

This deal I feel is cold, you'll get more that £12 trade in for the SOCOM disk at any store. (maybe use it to trade for CoD5??)
