I have a PS3 remote but still use my controller :?

I have a PS3 remote and my wife would be lost without it when it comes to using the media functions of the PS3

Both the PS3 and the 360 should come with one as standard, particularly the PS3 for its Blu Ray functionality, and lack of IR sensor.

I would so get one of these if I had a house, a living room and a big TV :P As it is, a controller is fine for a saddo like me sitting about 3 feet from the console and the TV.

If ONLY it had Volume Up/Down it would be sort of useful as a remote

I got one of these a couple of months ago - there are some obvious functions missing as Quebec5 mentioned but it's great for the kind of person who balances their controller on the side of the sofa when watching a movie, only for it to fall off or inevitably have a quick press of one of the secondary shoulder triggers. Plus it works just like a regular controller (I could just about play FF8 with it) except for the fact it doesn't use up a controller port. It also has a clever power saving plan so the lack of rechargable batteries isn't a problem, with only a slight delay when you haven't used it in 15 minutes or so. This is also handy if you're like me and your DS3 is set to turn off after 10-20 mins of no use, so when you've finished waching a program it has to turn on and sync to the PS3, which takes significantly longer than the blu-ray remote does after the same amount of time has passed.

Is that the real size of the thing. If so, then it's way too smegging big.

Going by the photo (unless its a kid holding it) it must be 1 foot long

Its the size of your average Sony Bravia Remote.

By the way, if you live in Birmingham and want 1 of these, head to Game Stop (In the Bull Ring towards the Train station end). I got mine for £14.99 plus a pre-owned blu ray for free last month. Not sure if this deal still applies, but i managed to get the Dark Knight 2 disc edition!

Only thing that annoys me is that if you accidentally press any buttons on the remote when the PS3 is off, it switches it on. I came home from work one day to find the PS3 had been on for God knows how long after the remote fell on the floor.

Is there a way to stop this?

Fraction bigger than a virgin remote
