For the price of 24 XL condoms at poundland you can have your very own DVD remote control for your PS2!

It's really good if you use your PS2 as a DVD player (no way!), so you dont have to press square and use the d-pad to select options! And for £2 you can't go wrong!

Please note: this product only works with PS2s with IR revievers built in.

Edit: This includes the Slimline PS2s.

edit: INSTORE ONLY

Well, when you say as well it says it only works on ones with built in recievers, presuming it dosn't come with a recieving.
So thats the Classic V10's (the reciever is between the power and eject button if you have it), or the slimlines.

No offence to the OP, and if you have a PS2 then this could be a good deal in a way, but the PS2 is one of the worst DVD players you could possibly use.

Why do you say that? What makes a DVD player good / bad? Fair enough, DVD recorders are far better.

DVD players vary quite a bit in terms of image quality and processing, and the PS2 doesn't really shape up that well to the newer Players of today, especially obviously the upscaling HD ones. However, if you're just looking for something that plays what's on the disc, and aren't a videophile, you're really not going to care that much :)

The newer slimline ones are excellent DVD players. I think anything with version 2 DVD player is considered very good via component or SCART.

The slimline ones have an IR receiver built in so don't require a little receiver that plugs into the controller port and there are solutions without the this included specifically for the slimline. My Logitech Harmony 885 alone controls my slimline. They will still work with this one, though.

Upscaling is mostly irrelevant in players in this price category as TV as decent TVs have better upscalers built in!

Kl, thanks for clearing that up for me. learn a new thing everyday! :)

My opinion with using a PS2 for a DVD player - Buy a cheap dedicated player cos it will cost less to replace than sourcing a replacement laser module for your overused PS2!

this definately isn't nationwide, I found a couple of these reduced to £5.95 in the clearance section, checked with staff and they definately didn't know anything about selling them for £2. Good deal if you can find one for £2 though
