Found at the Currys at the Cathedral Retail Park in Wakefield.

It's no longer listed on the Curry's website so very probably clearance.

For those unsure of the function of the crossfire adaptor, it allows you to use your pad and up to three other xbox 360 wireless game controllers with your pc.

The adaptor has been discontinued as far as I know and is therefore fetching a high price on ebay so you could sell it if you didn't want it and still get a pad for a reasonable price. The pad is of course the older white one with the grey d-pad as there was never to my knowledge a black d-pad variant released with the adaptor.

Hope it helps someone

What is a crossfire adapter?

he probably meant the wireless receiver for those who want to use wireless xbox 360 controller on their pc.

As long as service such as game for windows or any other game that support xbox 360 controller, they possibly could NOT discontinue the wireless receiver. Anway you can buy it anywhere for standard price which is £12.99

summerjoo - read the post as it clearly says what the adaptor is.

Kaishou - In the UK the wireless adaptor is known as the crossfire adaptor perhaps to avoid confusion with the wireless network card. They can discontinue the wireless pad because they can rely on people using the wired xbox 360 pad which doesn't need the adaptor and still allows them to create games for windows live titles.

"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_accessories#Wireless_Gaming_Receiver" - Read this if you want to know about the adaptor and its discontinuation (at least in the US)

As it happens there is more availability than I thought:

White - http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/12516966/Microsoft-Xbox-360-Wireless-Controller-For-Windows-Black/Product.html?_$ja=tsid:11518|cat:12516966|prd:12516966 - £29.99

Black (Old style D-pad) - Use "LN17857" to find it on Scan as link won't work - £27.93 (free delivery on orders over £20 if you post regularly on AV Forums or Hexus.

Adaptor on its own (white) - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows/dp/B000MGVAAQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1293893092&sr=8-3
But this is sold by a marketplace seller not Amazon directly - £13.25
