Do people really buy these things? Why not just buy a pair of homeplugs?

As fast and can be used with other stuff as well...

Its £55 without the voucher, £50 if you can use the voucher or £49 if you shop at asda.

£50, i'd rather buy a long ethernet cable, fraction of the price.
#11
heat added, thought long an hard before buying an official xbox wireless adaptor, long cables, fiddling with 3rd party devices to save a few quid, etc. At the end of the day the G adaptor isn't much cheaper than this. This should help with streaming video from your N computers.

this debate goes on whenever a deal for this piece of kit is posted....

Some people actualy WANT these, I have the existing version and whilst overpriced - its bloody handy for what is is (especially switching between houses) and no cabling is a bonus (for the missus ;) )

Just as fanboi posts arent relevant on a PS3 / Xbox360 deal, the point of these devices isnt up for debate here - only if its a good price if you are after one. :)

The problem is Micorsoft accessories like these are never a good price. :p

I had a white one and just couldnt get it to work - even when sitting next to my router, it just wouldnt connect dispite everything being correct settings wise. Gave up and have since set it up to run thru my laptop - cheap, easy and took about 5 minutes!

Thanks for that looking for this very thing tonight and nearly bought it without the voucher _eek

Heat added. Suggesting a "long ethernet cable" is a bit daft!

I'll wait for the January sales personally, but this is good for now. And 'n' is inarguably better than g or b.

I have the white one, the range on it is terrible. router is less than 10 metres away and I get a red connection bar.

dont fancy paying another £50 , microsoft rip off merchants

Guys,

Can anyone recommend a cheap quality 802.11N enabled router? I'm moving to my girlfriends house and we have Virgin Broadband. It's only 2meg (I may try to convince her to upgrade) and the router looks utter rubbish.

I'll be using my Xbox in the spare room which is directly above the living room where the router and modem is, however I'm a newbie when it comes to broadband hardware.

Can I just buy a 802.11N enabled router to replace what Virgin provided years ago, and buy the Microsoft Wireless N adapter to get the best possible connection? I'd use a cable, but that's out of the question (gf).

Thanks for your advice!

Cheers

I four on the shelves in my local Asda Supermarket this afternoon; so I guess you can already buy them.
