That way your Xbox 360 is connected wirelessly for considerably less dosh.
That's the way I've got it setup for me and it works perfect.
I always felt the Microsoft wireless modules were a complete rip off and considering how most people still have wireless G networks, this is kind of pointless.
However heat and rep added as it is indeed a good price if you must have it

I've got a couple of these already and just wanted to say that I've seen much improved performance compared to the old wireless-G adapters when streaming media from my PC to the 4 Xbox's I have via my wireless N router.
My 3 kids each have an Xbox in their room to play games/stream movies etc and I just found it easier to use these wireless adapters rather than go down the homeplug/additional wireless router path and then have to power additional electrical items to be able to do the same task, even if they may be a tad quicker. I also think these look better due to having no cable dangling around everywhere

I previously used the Laptop trick, and found it consistently kicked the xbox offline every 10mins or so (NOT the laptop, as that works perfectly) got one of these and xbox works perfectly all the time every time.

a very broad and sweeping statement, which incidentally, is untrue in my case :-D

Actually it's true in all cases.... Wireless over wired introduces latency no matter what set up you have. Wireless is only useful for portability/convenience, if you're connecting 1 static device (360) to another static device (router) then wireless makes no sense. Using wires already in place between those two points is a no brainer.

disagree, I have not noticed any lag whatsoever on my sons xbox360 with wireless n adaptor, I have played games on both the xbox360 as described and with my PS3 which is wired to the router....no noticeable difference.

You are completely missing the point. Yes wireless is slower than wired BUT online gaming does not NEED super fast speeds to work  It makes me laugh when people go on about 200mbps homeplugs when they most likely have less than 10mbps connections and play on a game that only needs about 2mbps to be totally playable
My wifi adaptor is great, NO LAG, NO WIRES, NO PROBLEMS

Speed has two meanings in networking terms - you shouldn't confuse throughput with latency. I'm not missing the point at all, wireless introduces more latency to any connection (that's the point).
The point is you would have less lag with a wired connection than an wireless one. You're right in that the MBps of any modern networking solution is more than enough for online gaming - this doesn't mean that all connections are equal. Perhaps you should make sure you understand the point before telling people that they are missing it...

Absolutely agree that it may not be noticable - it's only a few milliseconds of difference between the two but the difference is there. However if you're willing to pay extra for a wireless N over a wireless G device (as in this deal) then the small almost imperceivable differences should matter to you.

In most cases its true though, as many people seem to think they will have a decent gaming connection when the router they're connected to is 2 floors below them.
