This is the official HDMI lead from Microsoft. It also comes with the audio dongle so that HDMI and external audio can be used at the same time if you are using an amplifier. This is now a decent price and will look neater than modifying an existing lead to get audio out.

Note this has previously been posted but at a slightly higher price (unclecuddles) I thought it was worth a repost.

Why is this been voted cold? this is probably the lowest price that this has ever been sold, and yes I know that HDMI leads can be purchased for 1p but this is a good quality lead at a good price and comes with the dongle. The modified lead may be acceptable for some but this will look far neater.

If you have an xbox that has an hdmi output then yes, the elite comes with this, the audio out gives you stereo left-right phonos and an optical out.

Got mine for a tenner off ebay as a buy it now .He was splitting an elite up & did not know the value of this.If you have an amp with optical inputs, this is an essential buy. This is a fantastic price.

I need to buy a couple of HDMI cables....one for the xbox and one for the blu ray.

Is the audio out cable the only difference? Anyone seen good prices for 2-3m HDMI cables?

This is however a good price alone for this cable!

Thats nearly half the rrp .Good deal . Hot

Cool, I was going to buy one of these last week when it was still over £20 and I thought THAT was a fair deal. Looking forward to getting rid of that 'cat 'o nine tails' AV cable ^__^

The very thing ive been looking for, thanks bud, heat and rep added.

Does anybody knows what's the length of this cable?

Also does it work with something else (at least the HDMI cable part)? (i.e. PS3) or is it only for the XBOX.

If it works for something else then I guess you could swap the cable between the XBOX and PS3.

Good price.
#16
Or on the HDMI equipped 360s you can take apart the existing cable cover so there's space to use a seperate audio cable so this isnt required...although I did this when these cables were £35 odd... ;)
#17
looks good shame mine has no hdmi lol, ***** box

Yes I guess that as well but because this cable got the extra dongle I was wondering whether someone could confirm this.
#20
Well obviously you got to spend £99 on a cable for it to be true HDMI :P
Nothing less or you'll get distortion lol

What A Bargain Rrp Is About £39 I Think,i Got 2 Already, thinking Of Selling One,will Wait A While Now Lol
#23
Thank you, a wise investment. I too have been using the broken composite cable for the past years (without issue I may add) but it does get frustrating if you switch the source.

Could we all just clarify that this is still way overpriced. What people mean when they say it is a great price is that it is less of a rip-off than before. M$ should have just let us fit an HDMI next to a component lead. Simple. But they didn't.
#25
Great deal reglardless of the possibility of 'doctoring' the original component lead.

Can't see why that makes this deal any less good, for those that want it!

Voted hot :) (and ordered!)

Probably snapped up by al the marketplace sellers so they can sit on them until Amazon raise the price again. Once they do, the sellers bring them out sell for double what they paid :x
#31
At least they are still accepting orders at £14.95 :)

Not true i get 5.1 sound through my av reciever over a hdmi cable.

All depends on the capability of your equipment.

How can you be so sure about this ? I am guessing you have a £100 cable and a £2.99 cable and can confirm that this is true.

Just to let you know I have a £33 HDMI cable which won awards and blah blah blah and a £2.99 HDMI cable I have plugged my PS3 and my XBOX 360 with both cables and there are differences at least at 1080p

One of the main difference is the colours, you get different tones, and one of the most significant difference is the black. When you use good quality cables you get a decent black with a normal or cheap one you get a kind of grey. Watch a Blu ray movie at 1080p with different cables and you will notice something.

Another example that I can give you is that in very dark scenes with the cheap cable playing MGS4 I could not see myself when I am hiding behind a dark wall, al llooks black . But with the good cable you can see it. This is with the same settings on the TV and just by swapping cables.

So please don't state that there are no differences like a fact when they do exist. If you can not see the difference for you particular setup that is something else.

Uhhmmm I think in your case you don't have a HDMI problem.

Have a look at this web-site to see if you get that problem fixed

wow there is someone here that actually knows something, thank god there is more than just me that understand the difference between a decent cable,i too have a 1080p setup using a very high quality cable and glad to hear that someone else can tell the difference, the difference is huge between the 2 cables i have too.
#38
You guys must have really really good eyes because one cable carrying 0's and 1's is EXACTLY THE SAME as another one carrying 0's and 1's no matter the price difference. Over long distances, a better quality cable MAY make a difference because of shielding but other than that theres nothing. But as you are looking for a way to justify getting ripped off for buying that premium cable, you are both right.
#39
Looked at this before lunch, in stock ..thought “Mmmm I’ll get one of these” went to lunch and came back – out of stock :x …well there is a lessen to be learned here! Ordered anyway!

Thanks

How can a binary signal be different by sending it down a cheap or expensive cable? Other than the quality of the construction and the materials used the signal will be the same. Are you saying a '1' might change to a '0' or vis versa?
