As far as I'm aware that's why I have bought them so I don't disturb family when there sleeping

Yes they do, work very well too.

Looks like a really good price and product, am very tempted as I'm moving to a shared house.....I wonder if they're going to redesign them to incorporate an L shaped socket.

Neoki, excellent point!

andrewmtaylor...very mature and helpful....

Decent headset with the adapter. I find they hurt the top of my head after a short while though. Not as good as the Sony Wireless 7.1 ones but they're half the price and come with the adapter.

The fact that these come with the adaptor bundled (which frankly is a device with no legitimate reason to exist in the first place) makes this a great deal.

I have these and love them they do indeed allow the sound to come through the headset by the controller.

Will these also work on PC?

No these are just to keep your ears warm.

Sold mine on eBay earlier in the week for £40 - result :)

they're £30 on rakuten with the 25% off code (or 15 for adapter)

they're £30 on rakuten with the 25% off code (or 15 for adapter)

As I have seen on here, when people post any gaming deals whether it be games/accessories etc with that coupon you just mentioned, the code doesn't go through when you checkout

The £5 off code was failing - didn't know the 25% one was giving problems too - worked for me earlier today

The audio comes through the controller, so you can mute the sound completely on your tele and still get the game sound coming from the headset.

Simple answer is yes, however unless you have Laptop that uses the four pole headset socket, you will need a Mic/Headphone splitter, which is relatively cheap to buy on ebay, or amazon.

Decent headset with the adapter. I find they hurt the top of my head after a short while though. Not as good as the Sony Wireless 7.1 ones but they're half the price and come with the adapter.

If you get just the adaptor, you can plug the Sony wireless (PS3/PS4) headset into it, avoiding the need to buy a new headset for each console (assuming you've got the Sony one in the first place...)

Got this when it was £29.99 from Microsoft, certainly "worth" the money when you consider the price of the adaptor alone. One thing to note is you don't get a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor which iirc you do get with the standalone adaptor. Anyway the headset is decent build quality and sound is alright, a little tight on my head though so I'm using a pair of SteelSeries Siberia Elites which work a treat!

Indeed :) but for the difference in price between the adapter and adapter + headset you may as well go for the combo back. I've heard the microphone on the Sony Wireless is quite bad when used with the XBO.

Thanks for answering my question guys regarding this headset, much appreciated.

One warning though the adapter does tend to fail after a while...of course there's no way around this...thank you Microsoft!

can't say I'm too surprised either - stupid location for it - (only using the freebie headset)....the cable sticks out right at the very bottom, gets pushed into/bent by the pad resting on fat belly etc while playing, must only be matter of time
