i need one because I have to mount the camera above the screen to keep it out of my 10 month boys grubby hands. lol. I could probably lash up a Blue Peter homemade mount, but I'd be too concerned that it'd hit the deck when I'm jumping about playing Dance Central. lol.

What about to put a simple shelf above or below the telly??? I would imagine the cables used to connect this to the xbox as well as the power cable for it would provide a risk to young children pulling at it as well? I cannot believe MS have a RRP of £40 for this!!!

My TV is on a stand in an alcove, so all the power leads will be behind the TV out of the way. A shelf is an option, although it cannot be up too high because kinect must be able to see the floor when it swivels up and down on power up to acquire a reference point.I didn't want cables trailing down the wall either which is why I chose to preorder this kit instead.

I would not pay £29.99 for Kinect let alone £29.99 for some stupid stand. Vote Cold.

LOL! Voting cold because you don't like Kinect?

That's HILARIOUS! How is that ANYTHING to do with the deal? What a moron.

Apparently this kit is just some awful flimsy plastic that doesnt actually work with some TV's.
#9
Looks like some cheap plastic in PDP's own install video. Did consider it myself before I saw that it appears to be a very basic design. They could have at least put some kind of padding under the mount to protect the TV. Once it appears on auctions for half that cost or someone makes a better version it might be worth it.

lol. I didn't realise there was so much kinect hate out there. I wouldn't have posted the deal if I'd known people were voting it down just for that. :p

I agree ot an extent Huzz, but for a release day top-of-the-TV mount for your kinect this is the only option Ithere is other than gluing a drinks coaster to the top of my telly and sitting it on that! lol

lol, not really thought through eh seeing as alot of people have their tv mount on a wall via a wall bracket!!

still not convinced that this kinect will work in my environment with 2 tall cupboards either side of the tv and the tv mounted 1/2 to 2/3rd way up a wall, id have to mount it above the tv because a centre speakers and wii sensor occupy the space below (it wont work with a speaker behind it anyway)...so it would be mounted about 6ft from the floor....not only that how long is the connect cable - if its less than 6ft then i wont be buying it

games look pants anyway, either poor or wii ripoffs

was keen till ive seen the games and the price......may wait till ive played the games

they should give you a choice of either the stand or the mount for free if you're paying £129 for kinect anyway. fukin milking this **** already.
#15
Royals, it is recommended to be mounted either 2ft from the floor, or 6ft from the floor

That means your setup is perfect for it :)

Mine will be a little worse as I might have to just put it on a table below the tv so about 1.8ft from the floor! Not sure if it will work but ah well

well im sure because the product is crap, the price is crap and kinect is crap, okay moron.

Sorry what did you just say?

The product in the deal is crap, so the price is crap (fair enough tbh!) "and kinect is crap"?

What different does that make? You have no idea do you? HUKD is ruined by idiots like you voting on things just because you don't like something related!!! Your vote had NOTHING to do with this particular product or price, it was because you didn't like Kinect?!

Just don't vote?!

Now on PlayTrade from Gameseek at a more reasonable £20.36, decided to go for it at that price. I knew someone would drop it down, seems to be in limited supply so might be the best it will fall to for now.

@ Huzz

Check the order from that seller - the link through to the seller was for the wrong product (it linked through to the wall mount and NOT the TV mount). If the wall mount is no good for you (it's no good for me) then you may want to cancel the order before it's sent out.

The seller (Gameseek) does sell the TV mount, but it costs more than the £20.36 you were quoted, and it's out of stock.

Had order almost sent out and they cancelled it due to incorrect barcode. Oh well looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer for it.

Interestingly there's a fair old markup when buying that wall mount through play.com. They charge £20.36 when you buy through that site, but only £16.97 when buying direct. Moral of the story - use PlayTrade to source the retailers, then buy direct if possible!

Phoned game staition in Oldham and they do it for £20

t[quote=Agent47]I would not pay £29.99 for Kinect let alone £29.99 for some stupid stand. Your a knob kinect is well worth the money but I agree the stand is a rip off but its necessary to make camera work in a small room.

Well I was thinking of buying a bracket but now am not so sure if it is £30 and is flimsy will have to think again.
