Good price for this - from what I can find it's around £13 to £20 elsewhere.

The 2.1 Speaker System has been developed to allow you to enjoy your gaming experience in full stereo sound and simply select the 3D audio mode for a surround sound that takes you even further inside the game.

Designed to compliment the Wii console, the subwoofer provides deep and responsive bass, which, when combined with the satellite speakers produces an impressive 30W (RMS) output power - with all functions remotely controlled to a distance of up to 7 metres. The full function remote controls the 3D sound, volume, bass and treble performance. The magnetically shielded wooden subwoofer cabinet prevents magnetic radiation from the speaker magnets causing distortion to your television, and the subwoofer delivers theatre style sound you can actually feel.

ordered one for the other half (brownie points for me)

Great price I got mine from simply games a few months ago or a few quid more. Can't fault it for the money but sound isn't the best, slight buzz n sound a bit tinny but it's amazing value.
#4
Looks like good value for money. System is huge! in comparison to the Wii that is lol.

I got a speaker jack cable from Poundland, so anything that is connected to Tv comes through speakers not just the Wii. Also the Remote is well cool, my 2 year old holds it while her sisters play the Wii as she thinks she is playing also, all is happy
#6
Looks good, but if I have to use this to sit the Wii in, I won't be able to charge my rechargable remotes will I?
#7
Excellent price considering free delivery also which probably costs more than £6.99 itself, well done play.com

#12

Correct. I had these set up via a 3.5mm audio jack (female) to RCA audio converter connected to the television, this was then connected to the 3.5mm audio jack (male) to RCA audio converter put into the speakers.

How far from the box can the speakers be placed?
#16
Cheers op. If it's no good for gaming I'll just use it for my iRiver Spinn, also something I bought from here not knowing why!
#17

The base isn't mandatory, just a piece of plastic. OK, it matches up nicely, but If you've got a base which charges your remote(s) like I have, just place the woofer next to it (sans base or not, it's up to you).

Yes. It's got RCA phono inputs on the back. I've got an xbox VGA cable with rca so it could plug straight in. If you've got a white xbox using a hdmi you can still use the rca (white and red) sockets on the original cable which you get with it but to have both plugged in at the same time you have to crack the casing off because they put them stupidly close together. You can buy one for £6 but DIY fun is better.

Laptop could use a 3.5mm to rca lead you can get in a poundshop.

Whichever way you look at it, what you say is incorrect, this does not provide surround sound, a 2.1 speaker system is exactly that, a 2.1 speaker system, L & R Channels and LFE (Subwoofer)

Quote from the description "enjoy your gaming experience in full stereo sound and simply select the 3D audio mode for a surround sound". Now i don't think anyone here is expecting a 7.1 Dolby output but a makeshift surround sound for £6.99 is what is provided.
#35
Just ordered - Cheers! :)
#36
Bought this last time on offer. Kids love the sound, use jack output from tv to rca/phonos. Best bargain I have ever bought!
#37
Wow, this seems to have very good reviews (here, on Play.com and on Amazon.co.uk too) so for this price it's not a big risk. Thanks OP. Have some heat.
#38
Ordered. Thanks. X) Is it possible to use this for a PS3?
#39
Very nice, shame they don't do it in black.
