Howdy,
could anyone who picks these up let me know if they actually are the official Nintendo version and look like they do in the picture? I actually bought these yesterday (for £4 - grrrr!), but they're definitely not officially licensed! They seem to be made by Argos actually...
cheers

Reserved a pair but yeah confused by the 'officially licensed' moniker as I don't believe Nintendo makes anything like this?

Nintendo will "officially licence" a separate company to make these type of add-ons - rather than actually producing them directly. That's the way licensing works.

Thanks for this..off to collect mine too.

Of course, right i'm just being a div :). I suppose it makes a bit of difference in some cases - Hori joypads etc. are always excellent quality in comparison to no name ebay tat but was just a bit dubious about these because I've not found anything else on the net about them. Still for the money can't complain.

Then again I can't be the only one with a drawer full of fairly useless wii addons!

Just reserved these also... will work pretty nice with the new Super Mario Bros game!

I've got a basketful of them! (and some more in the cupboard!) :-D

weird question i know but what r these for ??
#20
There are some (excellent) games like Super Smash Bros or Super Paper Mario where you have to hold the controller sideways and use the buttons like you would a standard game controller. These just make the controller more comfortable to hold in that position for a longer period.

yeah this is true, but these definitely don't fall under that category... There is a note on the box which says "The product is not designed, manufactured, sponsored or endorsed by Nintendo Inc."

Having said that, the grips do seem fairly decent quality and a good shape... they're just not quite what Argos are advertising! :?

Damn, out of stock all around me, will have to keep an eye out, handy to have at that price, fantastic deal.

Just picked mine up.... Officially licenced or not (actually not, lol) these seem to be decent quality and definitely worth £2.49..... I think I'll put them aside until Christmas Day, then hit the new Super Mario game hard!
Thanks OP.

Picked up a set earlier, no they're not officially licensed Nintendo ones, even states that on the box, the ones I got are plain white without the pink and blue colour strips on the bottom like in the picture.

First impressions is they're really good, much better than I expected, it makes playing games using the Wiimote in the horizontal position an absolute dream!
