Most car manufacturers recommend replacing your oil every 6,000 miles and at National we like to ensure you are receiving the highest quality oil to help keep your car engine in peak condition. An oil change is particularly important if you have long intervals between each service or your mileage is very high or low. Detailed information regarding your oil and filter can be found in our oil section.

the price of oil isnt that cheap so i wonder just what will go in your car..

for my car it recomends

MAGNATEC 10W-40 A3/B4
Standard oil for most modern petrol and diesel cars

which is £20 for 4 litres.

Mine comes out to £27.60 using Magnatec, wondering what you need to have for it to be the £18.90

??

Same oil in one of my cars, but they're asking £26?

Still not bad, assuming they're still using Castrol/Duckhams oil as used to be the case.

My local National seems trustworthy and I use deals like this regularly for the 5000-mile inter-service change. Although in all honesty the flush (an extra £6) probably does the engine more good than the change itself.

Says my mini is Castrol Magnatec 10W40 Semi Synthetic , which is bull because my car only takes mineral oil.
#6
i wouldnt let these idiots touch my car. Its a loss leader so they can then make up you have loads of things that need replacing on your car while your there
#7
Edge Turbo Diesel 5W-40 £41.40 :( plus due to the time taken to remove some modern day engine sump guards or under trays, it may be necessary to request a small additional labour charge. If this is the case, we will discuss and agree this with you in the branch prior to commencing work.

Is your car particularly fussy Thriller??

has anyone used them.
How can you go wrong with just an oil change?

£26.10 for mine with the Magnatec. Still not a bad price tho'.

Interestingly, it says that that price is based on using 7 litres of oil. I think that's a bit high, maybe they add a contingency in case the monkey spills some.....

I would disagree, my local have been fantastic (up until now), but then each outlet is different. I had the oil change a while back although it did cost around £30 ish. Plus they did a visual safety check over the car and didn't say that anything needed doing. Next day the car sailed through its MOT. PLus I have just had some new tyres put on a reasonable rate after getting them to price match

Going through the ordring the price comes out to be double!!

Mine came at £38 for filter and OIL 5w/30.

It seems to think my celica VVTI needs "Edge Sport 0W-40" or "MAGNATEC 5W-30 A3/B4" I have been putting 10w-40 in it after speaking to a guy at toyota so I cant help thinking they are trying it on a bit :-S

They can't "make" you have anything. if they advise you that something should be looked at you are under no obligation to have them do the work. If you pay ordinary prices for a service at any garage, they're just as likely (or not) to spot basic faults and suggest that they fix them while they're doing the service.

great deal, mine is due an oil change too X)

They also have a 10% off an oil change printable voucher on their site which (in my case) is about what the online discount is.

It says " using a maximum of 7 litres " on my quote, which I suspect is the same for all quotes.
