Tesco have Old Speckled Hen on offer at 99p a bottle. there is also a 50p voucher on neck. I took the vouchers off and put them through at the end - so effectively making each bottle 49p. Bargain for a lovely ale!

Nice one! Kind of beer I like. They closed now but will be down there all day tomorrow. LOL!

Great deal for a nice bottled beer.

Excellent! Even at 99p these would be a bargain. A great ale!
#4

Hot for me

It was a great ale when it was produced in Abingdon, a lot stronger too. Not too bad taste wise now but voted Hot purely on price.

Hot for a great beer, just wish we had a Tescos near us :-( (35 miles to the nearest and all that beer in the car , i may get thirsty !):whistling:

I concur. Not the beer it used to be, but at ten bob a bottle you can't grumble.

Finally, a good deal on bitter. It riles me when you can buy lager for coppers on bogof deals - it's like the supermarkets are trying to ensure no one develops good taste. Even Booths no longer have the same number of bitter promotions they used to, so I'm reuced to the major supermarkets doing their 3 for £4 / 4 for £5 deals.

Heat added.

A little pick-me-up on the way to work ?

Thanks for this one. I will be looking for it tomorrow lunchtime.

I agree about seeing the lager offers all the time but relatively few for good beer. I was shocked when a brewery employee told me that the contents of a can of popular lager costs the brewery less to produce than it pays for the can it is in.

Just to make you aware, the bottles are 330ml, and be warned that the 50p off vouchers are meant for the 500ml bottles, so if the cashiers pull you up on this, then you won't get it. Still worth a try tho!

Thanks birdyboyuk, not really the deal that it read, I have brought 500ml bottles at about £1.50, so 330ml bottles at 99p are not by my figures 'on offer'. After you have spent 99p for 99p worth of beer you can get 50p off spending £1.50 for £1.50 worth of beer, so £2.49 spend for 50p off is still good but not hothot IMO.
#17
Remember that in Tesco's you don't have to buy the product to use the coupon though :) There is usually a limit which I think varies between stores though. I think mine only allows 1 coupon for an item you haven't bought per transaction. I think Asda do something similar.

You could always pull the voucher off the top of the bottle :whistling:

Not available in Edinburgh branches - called into Corstorphine and phoned others - £1.46 a bottle and no stock with the 50p off vouchers :(

Marvelous stuff

Rubbish deal! The 99p bottles are 335ml and not 500ml - the voucher is for 50p off your next bottle of 500ml Speckled Hen. No real gain at all with this deal. People should check out the deals before posting, I wasted my time going into my local Tescos for this!

Well you obviously didn't check out this deal before going as you will see I did state that the bottles were 330ml

O/P did not state bottle size yesterday. Lets face it, 500ml is a bottle, 330ml is just a sample.:whistling:

I went in today got 5 bottles, asked the girl if I could use the vouchers on the neck she paused then when I explained I could buy one then buy another with the coupon she agreed and scanned them all.

She even said to me theres two on this bottle and scanned two...before telling me to enjoy my evening...!!

Top Find...!!!

No 'neck vouchers' to be found in two Tesco's near me? Is it a national promotion?

I saw this on Saturday and was going to post (as there aren't many beer offers at the moment)

the bottles are 355ml I think (unusual size)

3 x 355ml = 1 lt 65 ml for £2.97

500ml Old Speckled Hen is 3 for £4 at Tesco - so you are getting 1 lt 500 ml for £2.50 which isn't too bad

Guess who bought the kopparberg non-alcohol cider by mistake yesterday - I noticed after I had paid for it and I don't think they would have exchanged it :x

At least I got 6 free cups of coffee with the IKEA card and they have the £1 meatballs / lasagna after 6pm in the restaurant :p
