Under the old talktalk packages (e.g. Talk International Anytime) caller ID was a cost option at £1.50 per month. - UPDATE - Apparently the price has just gone up to £2.50 per month!!

If you are paying for this save yourself some money and log onto yur account, navigate to Manage my Services, deselect caller ID and replace it with the free Privacy Pack.

I double checked this was not an error with customer services who confirmed that this feature is now free but you have to request it (grrr!)

Not much good if you have a multi package of features, but if you have one or two it's worth 5 minutes of your time.

Where is the privacy pack on the Talk Talk page?
#2
You need to log into your account (the 'My Account' tab) in order to alter your package

Yes I am in my account but there is nothing to see about the free privacy pack
#5
Odd, can still get into mine. Stick with it :-)

I see it but it wont let me remove caller display for £2.50? I unticked it and chose privacy pack and saved but look again and caller display is still listed.

Edit, it says it may take 24hrs for changes to show.

I just noticed that but they did not inform me! Also if you look here - https://www.talktalk.co.uk/pricechange?NODE_ID=9664

0845 and 0870 calls are free too if on unlimited call plans! Did not tell me that either and you have to opt in:shock:

Fantastic, just done it so thank you very much!

great will be looking when I get home cheers

I dont get this. I currently pay £23.74 for line rental, talk anytime international and caller display, then pay for 0845 and 0870 which is the only calls I pay extra for making it around £26 a month. Broadband is free.

Now if I change to the essentials package it is £11.25 line rental, £6.49 for broadband and £4 to add the any time calls pack making £21.74 all in and free 0845/0870 calls so will be cheaper. Can we just change to the newer package to save paying 0845/0870 charges?

Then since my exchange has been upgraded I could go for the broadband boost for another £4 so up to 24meg and still be about 26 quid all in with no extra call charges. Think I may have to ring them. Whats the best time to call to get a UK call center so I can understand them (and them my Yorkshire accent lol)

Thanks for the info I had to phone up in the end to do it. I also asked about taking the International calls off but they said that if I did it would now cost more!

im just off the phone to them and you cant add the free 0870 and 0845 to the internationa call package, i had to sacrafice the international calls to get the 0870 and 0845s free, so i will stil be paying £21something a month

Call centres also in South Africa. If anyone is out of contract and on a rolling monthly contract ring retentions and bargain. Current deal for renewing to a new 12 month mytalltalk essentials contract is a free wireless router or £5 discount for 6 months.
#27
Excellent, many thanks just done that.
#28

I have the same problem with the call centre. I don't really care where they are from but I can't fully understand them and they can't understand my Scottish accent. I have just got off the phone, I tried asking what the equivelent cost would be, buy keeping the same type package with international calls. But gave up. The guy could barely understand me and I struggled to understand him.

I am sure I am out of contract soon. Maybe I will use this as leverage.
