Here's a spooky idea, buy this in the 9cm pot and, wait for it, re-pot it into a larger one( i.e. bigger than 9cm). I have heard that some gardeners already practice this black magic, maybe the idea will spread . . . :w00t:

Great deal, heat added.

Ummm - its a 9cm "potted plant".

This "tree" is less than 4 inches high!

Olive trees grow famously slowly - but they can live a very very long time.

So, inc post its a pretty fair deal. (Probably a glitch, free P&P is supposed to be for seeds, not plants or even saplings).
But NOT exactly hot.

Thanks just ordered one

Only 30-40 years to wait before it's a "tree" bearing fruit!

Tis good to bury the hatchet;-)

Stupid question time.

When they say "9cm potted plant", do they mean the plant is 9cm, or that it is in a 9cm pot?

Think my Olive Tree would beg to differ..... even the Olives it produces.
No, its not kept indoors, its planted outside all year in a pot and is about 4ft tall.

I agree this is a good offer but how old does a tree have to be to get fruit? And more importantly, how long did yours take to reach 4ft?

Rich.

Ours is about 5 years old now. Had fruit last 2 years at least. When we got it it was about 2ft tall.

Cheers, just ordered one.

Hate olives myself, but the wife likes them (if it fruits and they ripen), but be a nice tree anyway for the deck.

I'm afraid I'm with the cynics on this one - 9cm is roughly the size of my finger.

We bought a dozen olive trees at our last house from a local nursery - they varied in height between about 5 and 6 feet when we bought them, and when we moved 3 years later they were between about 6 and 8 feet high. They only cost a tenner each, and they were decent sized trees to start off with - 9cm is basically just a seedling.

I suspect people are looking at the picture of the tree in the pot in the photo and thinking thats what they're getting - it literally will be a twig with a couple of leaves on it. Not voting cold, but I don't think it's the best deal in the world - sorry.
