remote_shoppingremote_shopping

More than £200 everywhere else. Good price
Most of the stores only have X-displays left. But still not bad for the price
They also have
OLYMPUS PEN E-PL2 Compact System Camera with 14-42mm lens - Silver for £198.97
The surprisingly small Olympus Pen E-PL1 is packed with all the technology normally found in bigger, bulkier cameras and camcorders.

This retro-style camera boasts a 12.3-megapixel Live MOS sensor and a Live Guide, which shows you the results before the image is captured.

With several creative filters and scene modes, the E-PL1 can adjust to all sorts of shooting conditions. In fact, this SLR camera renders pictures with vibrant colours and natural details, thanks to its dust-removal system and shift-sensor digital and mechanical image stabiliser.

Micro 4:3 lens compatibility means you can get more out of the E-PL1, whether you're working on a macro or telephoto shot. Meanwhile, a whole host of built-in effects means you don't have to spend hours on your computer retouching your snaps. You get the results you desire at the touch of a button!

Finally, the E PL1 by Olympus has a high definition video mode and can save creations in 1280x720-pixel resolution to an SD or SDHC memory card.

Give free reign to your imagination with the Pen E-PL1!

Good prices but needle in a haystack search time

Take care buying from Currys - they don't abide by the distance selling regulations and refuse to take things back if you have bought online and then tried them out when you receive them - despite being legally obliged to do so.
I never expected a large well known store to act in this way

if you have bought a refurb from then then i wouldnt be surprised .. if you have bought a new item .. just return it to them (following their published process) via insured recorded delivery and if they dont refund you plus your postage costs then

firstly give thewm a further opportunity in writing pointing out you will take a small claims action against them if they dont refund you within 14 days .. if they do not reply or refund you in full .. just fill in the claims forms online and they wil back down before the magistrates court case and pay you your 18 quid (or around that figure process fee) plus any credit card interest costs and other out of pocket expenses ... i had to go through the hoops with LG although this is because they refused to repair a defective handset .. they backed down at the letter stage

... they would have to be insane not to back down as they would loose in court and the magistrate would take a very dim view of their behaviour (the minutes of the court you could then send to the press) .. they know this they just try to bully people

.. but what can you expect from the people that forced warranties on people costing more than the item they covered !

I always try to use Amazon, they have always treated me very well and are quite often the cheapest or at least very competitive.

Incredible, but useless. Nothing anywhere. No doubt the "Buy a dozen and sell them on eBay" ars*hol*s have been at work.

They did this to me last year when I tried to return I camera instore I had bought online, they refused to refund - he said they may allow you to return it online !! (Whats the difference???) I called them and stated I wished to return it under the distance selling regulations act, a courier picked it up the next day and got a refund without any questions.

Start looking on ebay. You'll find them for at least £70 more - it'll be these, resold.

Managed to get one (an e-PL2) at Poole. Looks new to me, all sealed. Quite heavy but then I've only ever used compacts before. I'll see how I get on.
