The Fuji A850 takes AA batteries. I'd always go for the Lithium battery option.

Does the Fuji have a metal body?

The fuji takes SD cards...could be big point if you already have cards

AA batteries are in fact better than Li. You can buy re-chargable AA at very low price but not for Li. Ideal for ppl taking a lot of photos. Also, SD card is cheaper and far more available than the xD card.

Bought one of these 2 weeks ago, brilliant point and shoot and easy to use. The memory cards can be bought off the web much cheaper than the shops, it also comes with a micro sd card adaptor and those are cheaper still, spare batteries are also readily available, mine cost £6 for a high capacity type.As far as I know its the only metal cased camera with this lens at this price.
I like it because of its size and the fact that all the controls buttons etc are recessed into the body, it means it will slip easily into the top pocket without snagging. A good camera at a reasonable price. Voted hot.:santa:

A850 is cheaper at Jessops & I think quidco available. EDIT: Oops - that is the silver one - is the colour the only difference for double the price at Jessops?

Can anyone answer, would a decent SE mobile (eg K800i) hold it's own against most sub £50 offerings for the once in a blue moon novice and/or the keen (take a photo of paint drying) novice?
