been this price for a little while, decent price though

fantastic lens.. Price has been this for someetime. I got mine the earlier 3.5-4.5 version from Cex for 55 quid. A great steal, as they were retailing for 200quid as they are faster and much better built. Keep an eye out on Cex.

Thanks for the tip.

As for this lens, i really like it. Kinda wish I'd just saved up my money though and got the 70-300mm
Still a bargain.

The 70-000mm has gone way up in price. I got mine for £200 bit now it's £300. £80 brill price for lens. Also had e600 for £279 which is outstanding

Yes you can. Infact in the US they are doing a deal on this lens + M4/3 adapter.

I believe that there's no guarantee of Autofocus or Image Stabilisation when using this lens via a 4/3 adaptor. Anyone knowledgeable enough to confirm?

Again, if you can try and get the f3.5-4.5 40-150mm lens, try going for that. If you ask currys/pcworld, they have it on tehir system for £13 (yes thirteen). They can check area wise stock. Last I checked there were a couple in kent. Bit of a trek for me so I got the one from CEX...

This lens will autofocus and be stabilised on the Olympus micro 4/3 cameras, it will also autofocus on Panasonic micro 4/3 cameras as its AF is contrast-detect optimised:

After getting enticed by the salesman at The London Camera Exchange (Bournemouth), I bought the komachi kit. It only has the pancake lens which is actually really bad. Without a zoom, there's not much you can really do!

No - the 4/3 adapter allows you to mount the 4/3 SLR lenses on a micro 4/3 camera, the adapter is basically an extension tube with an electronic pass through to allow the camera to maintain auto-aperture control, exposure, read the focal length setting etc. Olympus micro 4/3 lenses can autofocus with all 4/3 lenses but Panasonic micro 4/3 lenses can only autofocus with certain 4/3 lenses.

It is possible to buy an adapter to mount various lenses such as Pentax K-mount and Nikon F-mount on your E420 but with no electronic communication which means manual focus and aperture control plus step down metering. As many modern lenses no longer have aperture rings unless you want to shoot wide open all the time you need to stick with older versions of the lenses.
