Simply, one of the outstanding albums of the 80s. Never thought OMD quite got the recognition they desrved. Guess they were caught between being a 80s "pop" act (like Duran Duran) and a more "underground or indie" act (like New Order). Amyway, just my thoughts; but nonetheless this is just one of my fave 80s albums - tracks 3,5,6 and 7 and astounding but the whole album is fantastic Oh, and deal wise, £5 to £10 elsewhere.

Track List

1. New Stone Age
2. She's leaving
3. Souvenir
4. Sealand
5. Joan of Arc
6. Maid of Orleans

11. Motion and heart (Amazon version)

I always found OMD odd, they released some good alternative electro pop songs, then went and released awful stuff like Tesla Girls and things got worse afterwards.....

Superb group, individual sound, no one else could repeat them, thanks.
#3

This is a magnificent album - OMD at their peak - and well worth the price. Worth buying for the extended version of Souvenir alone!

"Dancing like an epileptic geography teacher", anyone? I still remember that quote. I couldn't believe the prices for the OMD tour!!

I was surprised to find out that they are from Liverpool.

Alan: That was Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark with some classic electro-rock from their album ‘Architecture and Morality’, two subjects I’m sure we could discuss all night. Indeed, the lines are open if you want to call, make a comment on either architecture or morality, two equally hot but differently shaped potatoes. Chips, and… crinkle-cut chips. So, give me a call. Please! Seriously, though, do give me a call. It’s four-fifty a.m. The Queen is dead, long live the King Singers!

NO, NO, NO.........
Tesla Girls i'll admit is a bit cheesy, especially the video, but as someone who has listened to it off and on for 20 years I find it always great for a nostalgic sing along.

Good spot but opted for OMD best of £3:79 and Best of Groove Armada £2:99.

Was tempted by a couple of albums by The Blue Nile but they are so depressing.

Maybe in the winter months for them me thinks.
