    1. use this to get a reading.
    2. then use a mercury blood pressure monitor to get a reading.
    3. notice the difference from the mercury bpm, remember the value.
    4. next time when you use this, add/deduct the value to get correct reading.

Go for better models in Omron

There is some very bad advice by others above ! Go to link at bottom of post for list of approved monitors and decent BP information.

This monitor is on BHS approved list so its it perfectly good and will give very accurate home readings. Most GP's are using these types of monitors nowerdays as they are so accurate. You dont need anymore than a basic model (like this) as they just introduce more features that aren't really needed (like memory function).

You beat me to it, I was about to post the same link. And of course it clearly states that "All the monitors listed on this website have been clinically validated. This means that all the machines, regardless of their cost, give reliable readings when used correctly."

I've never understood why these have such a wide variation in price. For example, Boots currently sell this model for £48.30. I'm also not sure whether Asda have ever sold them for £20, they seem to have been £10 forever!

I have the M10-IT which always gives 9-10 more than the accurate reading. But it is consistent. So subtracting the value works.

I've had one of these for the last two years. Omron is the best brand on the market.

My doctor suggested I bring mine in to calibrate it against the surgery's BP monitors, which are the more expensive Omron's. The only difference between the two was theirs took 10 seconds to produce a reading, whilst mine took about a minute. Other than that, the results were identicle.

If you're looking for an accurate digital BP monitor, this is as good as it gets.

Like it, believe it, realise it, or not, one's Attention is one's very essence. The part which one calls/identifies-as "self" is The Attention, which is called The Essence of Divinity in the Chinese [look deeper and not at the shallow/colloquial], one's Attention being a mere one part of 5 components that make up one's Soul, the other 4 components being immutable and are there to support/moderate one's self/Attention. As such, to distract, to disarm, or to "own" another, The Attention is the key/first step. For "modern" humans, knowledge is that key. Although knowledge has always been the key factor to owning another/others, it was limited in its impact by distance which with the advent of The Wireless, is now truly a Free For All situation. When it comes to open season, however, for the not so sure, oka The Living[-but]-Dead, it may be constructive [Of The Living] or it may be destructive [Of The Stone Dead]. A truth might depends on knowledge but when knowledge is based on The Stone Dead, you'll be hard pressed to realise The Living side of the knowledge.

Should there be a spiritual dimension, knowing all about it is merely of Religion & Religiosity. Afterall, no matter how one tries, there is no way of imparting the principle of colours to those who were born blind, those whose universe is one of Shades of Light, oka Of White & Black. As such, Reality is of self/empowerment/femininity and not of another/knowledge/masculinity. When it comes to empowerment, however, being able to resolve matters from Above The Horizon offers not only an advantage, it also offers Truth as well as the ability to dilute/moderate/re-present The Truth. When matters are only relayed from the point of view of knowledge, you are as good as finished should wickedness be running the show. Hence Propaganda is the first means to controlling another['s Attention].

Like it, believe it, realised it or not, the truth/reality behind Blood Pressure is not "Repeat Prescription" by that favourite Tentacle of The Bookie, Quackery & Handler, be the prescription in the form of the material [like pills and potions] or the immaterial [like monitoring BP, say, and the myriad of This & That Knowledge]. The fundamental behind BP is Anger-Guilt with Anger being Over BP and Guilt being Under BP [there being no such thing as Anger without Guilt because they are co-limiters otherwise there is no material/physical limit to either Anger or Guilt on its very own]. Moderate these 2 [behaviourial/non-material] aspects and you'll have a fighting chance to reverting to normalised BP. Hence, to realise "normal" BP, one must be empowered by the knowledge and not merely reading/knowing all about it. It will be a truly liberating moment when one is able to finally realise the insanity of re-presenting knowledge as empowerment, just like the Frivolity & Nonsense of "Mastermind", "QI", "IQ" and all the other re-presentatives of Knowledge trying to usurp Power as the key. To being mesmerised and imagining that as being empowered - by Another that is and not by Self.

For those who truly care/love their self and not merely the love of their selfishness, the key to reality/empowerment is being The Purity within Desire and not merely having The Desire for Purity, the latter being a myth/Of Knowledge should the-former/Empowerment-by-Purity be absent. Witness, therefore, the constant Desire for Purity when the Purity within Desire is lacking by the vast majority of humans. Like the desire for the best BP meter in the universe, not to mention the miraculous transformation of self by the mere [and constant] purchasing/unpdating of some PhonyPoddyPaddy. Afterall, one cannot love Another should the [unconditional] love of Self be lacking, the loving of the selfish/conditional self being the mythical love of another. Realise too that ALL human afflictions sourced via Psychosomatism/Idiopathism are unresolvable by the Tag Alongs of Quackery & Handler when one blind to The Spiritual, the humanised medical profession being blinded by the love of the conditional/conditioned self before, during or after their sojurn to saviourship. Afterall, isn't Prevention better than The Cure? Not when Repeat Prescription is the driver for Fame, Fortune & Immortality.
