First post so please be gentle. I spotted this in the Pharmacy of the Asda-Walmart Superstore in Watford.

This is a reliable machine, runs on 4x AA batteries (these last a loooong time), accurate measurement of brachial (arm) blood pressure.

As a med professional I use this brand, its light to carry, accurate and simple (just 2 buttons). Far superior to anything available in Lloyds Pharmacy. Ideal for anyone who wants to occasionally check their BP at home. Only downside is it does not have a memory function unlike the pricier MX3 plus. I have found these 2 models more reliable and easier to use than models 2 to 3 times the price. At £9.99 this is a bargain.

I cannot find it on the Asda.com website, if anyone can please post a link. Thanks.

In what way is it "Far superior to anything available in Lloyds Pharmacy"?

Good price for a professional blood pressure monitor. Omron are very reliable. Amazon price £13.99.

Not on the website, maybe it was just a local deal. If you do want to monitor your own blood pressure then you must buy something accurate like this or your symptoms are likely to get worse!

I should clarify its superior to anything in the same price range that Lloyds have

I've used this and it doesn't inflate very well plus the error rate is a lot higher in measuring BP. The Omron is more relaible.

used the Lloyds one found it to be very accurate and good quality a lot of doctors recomend it as well this one is probley just as good.I agree the wrist ones dont seem accurate

Excellent price as 'normal price' is supposed to be £45.

Difference between this one & the LLoyds ? This one is clinically validated for accuracy.

I bought a wrist monitor in Lidl's & might as well have thrown the money away, as the pressure monitor was over 20% out & the pulse monitor recorded at least 10 beats too few.
As well as a waste of money any Blood pressure monitors not tested and proved accurate by the British Hypertension Society can be a dangerous thing.
