First post so be gentle!
Just been to Currys and noticed they have the Kameleon 8 in 1 remote, touch screen reduced to clear at £4.97! Quite a few in stock.
Don't think it's available online. Model number is URC 8308.
Operates over 1500 brands incl. TV / DVD / Satellite / Cable / PVr / VCR / DVB-T and lights with additional one for all light control accessories.
One for all web wizard provides online setup.
Can't find a picture to post, if anyone can help?

Edit Just noticed they have a very similar one (but 5 in 1) for the same price - boxes almost identical! - model no. URC 8305

should of bought them all and flogged on ebay,
bargain
#2
can you get the sku codes for both ?
[helper]#3
Seajay, what is the 6 digit SKU number on the receipt?

Thanks
#4
The SKU for the 8-1 is 0000909043, the 5-1 is 000075710, be careful though I bought 2 not realising that one is an 8-1 and the other 5-1. The boxes are almost identical, saying that £4.97 for either is a bargain.

They appear very well made out of an ultra slim (6mm thick) durable aluminium body. They do need batteries, however, as the ones supplied are only for demo purposes.
#5
just phoned and told no stock :x
#6
I would think that any staff checking if in stock would possibly keep for themselves when they realise the price, or is that just me being cynical? Great buy though if you can find any local.
#7
none in my local store..
#8
ends in 97p = end of line stock (if any) - good find mate

Getting back to "helpful" comments, I had this remote a while back and was glad to take it back for a refund.
It was too heavy in the hand to use and it was also extremely slippery and odd shaped as well.
That, combined with the weight made it a danger of slipping from your hand and damaging anywhere about your person it should fall. (I think it also chipped my wooden floor!)
In operation it was about fair for a 1-4-All, buttons were odd to press and it worked well for the few days I had.
Oh, It didn't control my Humax PVR 9200 at the time which was an added reason I exchanged it.

Great price but not a great remote :(

I purchaced one of these a few years ago and it was horrible. I had it less than a week and took it back.

I dont ever believe they were £70 im sure all i paid was £0 from argos a few years ago. then the company I work for sold them for £30 (not sold them for a few years again).

I will stick with my Logitech Harmony remote which is fantastic :D
#14
I used to have this remote, I paid £30 for it a couple of years ago.

It is the worst remote that I have ever had the misfortune of using.
It's difficult to hold because of it's size.
The "touch screen" isnt a touchscreen at all.
The buttons in the middle are so small they are hard to use.
The plastic covering on the "touch screen" wore away on the most commonly used button.
Because it is made of aluminium it is cold to the touch (not good when it slides down the arm of the sofa onto your bare feet/legs)

Saying that though, it's cheap for £5 so I've voted hot.

Good deal, but as said - terrible remote. Battery life is disgusting on it for a start.

Harmony all the way, you can't beat it.

Think you are just being cynical, you'd be lucky if the staff knew what a remote is

Explains why it's so cheap, thanks.

i got one for maybe £20 a year or so back, and agree - total crap. eats batteries too. i took it back. wouldn't use it if it was £0!
#23
Older versions were crap on batteries , but been using mine for around 4 months on same batteries and works a treat with everything.
( It isnt a true touchscreen though)
Absolute bargain if you can get one for that money.

bargain, really :)
#25
i have the 5-in-1 version and i don't see what the problem is.

it's a remote, does a great job of all my cinema stuff, tv and dvd (or my xbox)

Heavy? really how much do you need to hold a remote before it becomes a strain?

great price! doubt my local will have any but i'd happily get the extra three options so if anyone finds some, grab me one!
#26
I just rang Currys (callcentre not local) and was told that they no longer stock the Kameleon remote but have a similar one?:?
#27
sorry guys I ment £30

im blaming my keyboard here
#28
Oh the keyboard's fault is it?
This remote is probably brilliant ;)
#29
I've got a similar model this and thought it was going to great to replace all the remotes.
I could get it to work Sky+ ok and could "teach" it some from my DVD player remote but not all and it wouldn't work with my surround sound at all despite trying for ages to copy each function from the old remote to this one so gave up.
Anyone had problems with the learn function where you point the old remote towards this one and teach it each function one by one? It failed on almost every occasion. I only kept persevering as on one occasion it worked with a couple of functions.
#30
I tried a 5 for 1 from play at £17, it didn't work on my cheap dvd player, I must send it back.

1) I rate this COLD, i cant stand posted deals with a GOTO link that don't display the actual deal/item.

2) When the item in question is not a 100% confirmed regional deal.

3) When I have to get off my backside drive all the way to a store (using my petrol) & paying for parking to find the deal isnt at my branch.

4) When I have to Pay for like a 0845 number (which I dont get for free) to check with the store that doesnt know anything about any deal in question.

Any posts like this are just getting cold from me from now on, they are just clogging up the site, with allot of one off's and hear say deals.:x

1) How can it link to item when it's instore only

2)You personally drive to every branch of every shop relating to every deal to verify them - I'll leave you some rep :?

... I can't be bothered with the rest, try contributing to the site rather than moaning about it - You never know it might give you a warm feeling inside and snap you out of your Victor Meldrew mode.

stop crying - if you don't appeciate the effort people are putting in to post deals just because it hasn't worked out for you then I suggest you stop visiting this website and go and complain somewhere else. Ungrateful sod.

1. HUKD always displays a "Goto Deal" link even for instore items, not that its a big deal but you can hardly blame the poster for that!

2. The item has been bought by the OP from a store in his region. How does that not make it a regional deal?

3. If you do all that for a £4 remote then you're a fool. Either wait until you happen to be driving past a store or dont go - its your choice y'see, thats called democracy. God fobid you might actually have to get off your backside.

4. If you cared to politely ask almost anyone on HUKD they would tell you to goto www.saynoto0870.co.uk for a regional number - you dont even have to get off your backside for that.

Personally I've turned up at lots of instore deals and found nothing, but thats life. However, I've also found:

Lots of HD DVDs for under £1
Lots of Blu-Rays for under £5
A digital camera from £150 to £40
A phone from £400 to $50
Numerous console games all reduced to £1
etc...

All through the generosity and helpfulness of other HUKDealers. Remember youre getting something for nothing here mate.

It might be good price but I have wasted too much on One-for-Alls over the years. I now stick to Harmony - despite the high price.
#36
i been told the whole country has sold out of them including pc world.

I dont ever believe they were £70

I remember when they first came out, they were £69.99 which I thought was mental for what it is. I too will still with my Harmony remote that sits in a draw lol.
#38
I have one of these and never use it. It does most of the stuff on each remote but not all, so you still need to keep each remote near by which makes it a bit pointless
#39
i have had the 8 in one bought it few years back for £35.It's a good remote, personally i use it if I misplace the originals and with kids that happens all the time! If codes don't work you can call helpline and send the code through the phone. Never had an harmony, so can't compare but this one is a bargain at 4.99! Hot if you can get hands on it!
