I recently brought the 4 in 1 universal remote (first generation 8040 model) on offer at Maplin for £14.99, only to find that it isnt updateable on the internet as the advert suggests and I just didnt like it. The comments on this site tend to slate it for eating batteries. So I returned it and I had a look around and saw Pixmania were doing the second generation 10 device remote for £35 plus postage.
This was about £70 last year, and it is updateable via the internet (has a built in modem), also it has its own charging cradle so no problems with constant battery replacement and it controls up to10 devices (if you have them)

I know it is £20 dearer (plus postage), but I thought it was a bit of a bargain, so I posted it.
Incidentally Amazon also have it on their market place for the same price, but the seller is Pixmania.
All the best...

Pixmania are a bunch of assclown crooks.

Ok so is that why this is voted cold. Is the deal itself cold or is it because of bad experiences people have with Pixmania. I have never used them so couldnt comment. Nice to see one person has actually responded rather than just posting cold

I have got one of these and I hate it !

The main problem is the "OK" button in the middle of the remote, it is very difficult to hit it dead centre so what can happen when using Sky is that you end up scrolling up or down a channel then pressing OK all in one go which then changes your box over to another channel ! What's even more annoying is when it decides you are pressing right then eventually OK which means you have set the box to record a programme that is on later.

Sorry but cold from me.

i bought one of these for sky+ and it was dreadful. I returned it to argos.
if i remember rightly, the play options were on a "next" page, so you had more button presses.
it was a nice remote apart from that
