Posted a few days ago for £34.99! I thought it deserved another post due to it coming down half price. Limited in its uses, but if you have an iPod touch/iPhone, or other device that can control music on your pc wirelessly then this is a great alternative to something like squeezebox which costs way over £100!

I'm getting one to use in my bedroom to stream music from my pc, and use my iPhone to control tracks/volume etc! Seem's a fantastic deal =D

* Send PC audio like MP3 wirelessly to your audio system
* Digital transmission with FEC error correction ensures high sound quality
* Minimal disturbance by using 2.4GHz signal & 8 selectable channels
* Easy Installation
* USB 2.0
* MP3/WMA/WAV and others
* Plug & play

What connections does it use to plug into the hifi?

Also, do you need an app on the Touch to control playlists on the pc?

THANKS!

If you want to use iTunes then Apple have a free app on the appstore which you can use called [remote]. There are other apps for controling VLC and so on though, most of them are free. I think the output connector is just a standard pc jack, similar to pc speakers but I could be wrong, I was trying to find the same info. You can probably get adapters if it isn't the output you need.

You can control windows media player using [signal] but you have to pay, theres probably others out there that are free, just do a quick google

I don't really need it, but still tempted to get it for this price ;)

Does anybody know if this could be used to set up wireless surround speakers for a PC, or would there be too much time lag?

Not really, because this dongle installs as a separate audio device in the OS, so you won't be able to use front & surround speakers from the the same application at the same time.

Anyone got 1?

You can output to two seperate playback devices on some OS's, I was trying to look for info on that yesterday will continue my search!

Nifty piece of kit for the money

Manual states it's got a 3.5" jack from the receiver unit which outputs to two RCA phonos which will connect to the right and left audio/line-in of your music equipment. Receiver is AC powered of course

Tempted, but would it work in Linux?

Very nice bit of kit by the looks of things. Not for me as I use my laptop where I want music but I'm sure this is a very useful device.

Looks like a great price for this unit, they are going for £39.99 on Amazon. Id like to hook my stereo speakers in to this with normal speaker cable, does anyone know where I can get a speaker wire to RCA converter to make this possible......:?:

Careful. you can't just connect a set of HiFi speakers to the receiver. You'll need the signal to be amplified somewhere along the line. :thumbsup:

Hello
Does anyone know whether it is possible to output to two separate hi-fis if I buy two?
What would the range be for one of these?
Thanks in advance!

Mine came today.... cant fault it. Sound quality is superb!

Got mine too - just plugged it in, and off I went. No drivers / software to install. Sounds great. PERFECT!

A colleague has a Mac, does anybody know if this will work with one? Can't find anything online.

Thanks!

tut! Mine still hasn't came yet =[ looking forward to it though =] thanks a heap for the manual, I'm guessing a normal 3.5mm jack will work instead of using the rca cables as I want to use these with my pc speakers..

Just a little update..... the transmitter stops working when i use the microwave lol.... apart from that its all good.

Ive setup itunes on my windows 2003 server (which sits in my room upstairs) and added my music collection.

Connected the wireless reciever to my home cinema downstairs in the lounge.

Also installed itunes remote on my iphone, so now i can basically use my phone as a remote to play my tracks downstairs ... happy days !

This is back at £17.99 having been at £34.99 for a while. :)

Should it be reposted?

I've just got this - very pleased with it. I can use it to play downloaded music on my hi-fi in the next room. This cuts out the output to my pc speakers. Does anyone have a more elegant way of reverting back to my pc speakers other than pulling out the dongle when I'm finished with it?
#29
any one finding it interferes with their wifi ? mine was working ok but it has started playin up today, Only channel i can get it working on with out breaking up, stops the wifi completely. Doing my head in!

I know you can get audio transmitters which run on a higher frequency so avoid clashing with wifi, but they are very dear.
