How does one select/control the music to be played? Is there some form of remote control or do you just choose files and playlists from your PC?

So its a wireless, erm, wire! Sends the audio out to a stereo? Any idea on the range?

i bought one a while ago for £17.99
the sound is crystal clear
and basically turns of the speakers on your pc
when you plug in the dongle
and then the sound comes out of the stereo (including the pc sounds )
the reciever unit it very small about the size of a mini cd box.
i have my computer in the hall and my stereo is in the dinning room so a bit close to give good advice on range.

I got one of these last time they were down in price. They are very good. It just works like a USB soundcard. You plug the dongle in and it takes over the audio. You fire up your audio app and sound is transmitted to the receiver.

Sometimes the signal breaks up and when that happens there's a button on the dongle to change frequency. As it's transmitted digitally theres no added "hiss" and the sound quality is very very good.

Regarding range I'm not sure I use it about 8 feet from the receiver with my laptop. Beyond that I can't comment on. I'm almost tempted to buy another one.

They have been this price at Play for some time now and the reviews are generally excellent.

Yep, great gadget, great price. PC in dining room - stereo in lounge - about 12 or 13 feet I guess.

Can I still use the PC audio, as well as this? Thinking for parties I could have the same audio in multiple rooms?

I don't think so as it over-rides the PC speakers.

Have used at a distance of 30-40 feet through walls and has worked fine.

Great product.

Would anyone know how many receivers can be operated using 1 dongle transmitter? as that maybe a way of having a multiple room sound system.
