Hi guys heres a deal that wont hang around so go quick if you want it!!

One night on 16th may for just £40 for a double room includes breakfast and use of leisure facilities!!!! (DONT FORGET QUIDCO)

http://www.laterooms.com/en/p3875/hotel-reservations/66035_scotlands-hotel-pitlochry.aspx

You can also have a single room for £20 but if you want a twin room you will need to phone laterooms on 0161 8313745 and they will phone the hotel to ask them for you.

Note this hotel for a single room FOR THE SAME NIGHT ranges from £78.19 at alpharooms to £91 at hotelopia! A double room at hotelopia is £111 ranging up to £130 at totalstay.com for the same night so this is a fab deal. I wouldnt hang around if you want this see you there!!!

If anybody finds any other dates at this Fab price please list them. Pitlochry is a lovely little place with lots to do.

See this site

http://www.scottish-towns.co.uk/perthshire/pitlochry/

I also recommend a visit to the pubs McKays if you go there. Really nice place with live music most nights

If you want to stay anther night I wouldnt stay at Scotlands hotel as the next night is much more expensive I recommend the Arcasaid hotel or the fishers hotel You might be able to get a deal from easy-breaks.com or call them on 01315611239 (withhold your number) UP UNTIL 9TH MAY YOU CAN GET A ROOM WITH DBB FOR £30 each at the arcasaid via easybreaks.(the meals are fab at the arcasaid - 4 courses and a full scottish breakfast and cereal etc etc)

http://www.easy-breaks.com/search/region/Heart_of_Scotland/lower_price/0/upper_price/59/results.aspx

(book online to avoid booking fee)

Almost forgot this deal is via laterooms.com (bookings.com and rates2go have it as well but - book via laterooms to get 7 % quidco too!!! When you try to book it on the site they will give you a reference number you then phone to book (0161 8313745 is the local rate number) and I guess after you book you then make an enquiry on quidco with that reference number quidco says its the only site they will allow you to do this.

I went to Edinburgh last year it was a great trip (very cold though would only go July/August if I went again).... but that was a city, that of course everyone knows. I don't fancy going all that way just to go to some place in the sticks though! LoL I can go to the sticks here without the travelling.

Voted hot.. simply because after looking up hotel details, it looks a decent hotel. And £40 a night for a good hotel really isn't a lot at all..

personally I wont be going, because it is very far away, and without a car it would be tricky.

However I searched and there are rooms available to book for £40.. so has to be hot

It is stunning countryside and wonderful culture - but dreadful weather; still friendly people and a good hotel can help you forget that.

IIRC May can be one of the better months

Pitlochry is gorgeous, lovely walks (all very well signposted and colour-coded) around the surrounding area including round Loch Tummel and Ben Vrackie. The climb up Ben Vrackie (about 850m) gives you some incredible views over the valley and Loch, then over the north side of the hill you see the start of the Cairngorm Massif.

There are lots of lovely places to eat in the town and if you're in the area then I'd recommend heading up to Queens View (you can drive straight to it without any hillwalking) for some stunning views, also a walk up Schiehallion is recommended if you have time.

The last time we were up that way on our way back we stopped off at the Fortingall Yew and the Crannog Centre, both very interesting, there's also the longest Beech Hedge which was featured on the 'Remarkable Trees' series, the leaves would be starting to come out right now.

Voted hot, not just for the deal, but for the extra information on what would otherwise (for me) be an unknown place in Scotland which certainly looks worthy of a place on an itinerary

Pitlochry is gorgeous,

I'll second that. Had never been until a few years ago and been back a few times since.

Pitlochry is very nice and it's pretty central to lots of other places if you have a car. Think there's a train station in the town too from memory. Some nice whisky distileries nearby. Edradour is worth a visit on a sunny day even if you don't like whisky.

And I've only had bad weather once in about 5 visits to Scotland. Guess I've been lucky.

Ooh, forgot about Edradour Distillery, it's actually on one of the colour-coded walks (the yellow one I think) and it's a lovely walk where you get a side view of Ben Vrackie and if I remember correctly it takes you past the warterfalls at Black Spout, yup it's the one I was thinking of:

http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/edradour.shtml

The Ben Vrackie walk is detailed here:

http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/perthshire/ben-vrackie.shtml

Just pick a nice day and the views will be stunning!
