Voted cold for the bailiff comments :-(
Ye I did one of these first year deals and then the price goes up quite a bit, forgot to cancel (didn't get a reminder of anything) hadn't even used the hosting for about 2/3 months. Got a bailiff letter from these cocks after like 1 week explained it wasn't even being used and they where very difficult, insisting on a full years payment when I didn't even want it. Avoid
If you forget to cancel and don't pay , they wills end bailiff letters through !! Even though I think there not even a uk company ?
Been using them for years as a couple other people have said. Never had them trying to upsell me anything , and I'm really happy with their service. I also confirm they have excellent customer service via the live chat.
1st year is always hot, it's from 2nd year onwards these guys start charging more than the market. aka is perfect example of this.

Hot! Not sure what all the cold votes are about. Cheers!
I have used for over 10years and several domain names. They usually have really good offers around the American/Canadian holidays.
there are loads of free deals out there

and most of them are too good to be true, they hold your domain hostage when you need to renew
Why are you wanting to cancell before you even start?
If you want a company you won't be happy with try
They more than doubled my fees without any warning.
you can also request to cancel as soon as you have the domain, and you will still have that domain for 1 year, so at the end of the year it automatically expires. here is the log

Jofel: May I know the domain name?
you: ****
Jofel: Please hold on while I check.
Jofel: your account renewal date is 18 May 2013
you: ok, can i request to cancel now and keep the domain until then?
Jofel: yes, you can
you: could i do that please
Jofel: The cancellation email has now been sent to the registered email address of your subscription.
Jofel: In order to cancel the account, you will have to:
Jofel: - Click the URL in the Cancellation Email.
Jofel: - Click on Submit.
Jofel: - Enter your Control Panel password and click Submit again.
Jofel: If you did not receive the cancellation email, you will have to request for the same email again.

Thank you very much OP
£10.10 cashback through tcb
They've had this deal for years, I've registered loads of domains with them and always had the £10 cash back.

You have to make sure you cancel or change to another supplier near the end of the year though or they charge you £30 to £40 for the next year (been caught out once before on this and never again).

Overall not a bad provider for 80p
i don't have any problems with two websites in last 3 years
I had a really bad experience with One, and will never use them again.
Be careful you read the terms and conditions, then print a copy!

Sorry to hear that. Maybe I've just been lucky...

Can I ask the general grounds of the issue?

Thanks people, I'll read up on the suggestions :)
I need cheap hosting does anyone know of a "decent" company to deal with bar this one? have a 2 years for £20 package. I've been using it for some time and have no problems or complaints so far.
Avoid this company - bunch of [email protected] crooks!
AVOID so much issues trying to move away after my 1 year free! not worth the 1 yr free! COLD :(
Had so much trouble cancelling with this company, I'd cancel then a year later get a bill for 12 months usage, took three attempts to get them to cancel, hopefully it was an isolated incident though

my quidco tracked on this fine. Great deal heat & rep added! Also fine for .com domains which are usually more expensive!
whats 1&1 like???? I've got a couple of websites on there! But not sure if i should change to some1 else?

I have quite a lot of domains hosted on both 1&1 and easily. Not had any problems with either of them.
Out of the 2 the easily front end is easier to use, but that's not to say the 1&1 console is hard to use.
You wont got wrong with either.

Avoid the "free" or ultra cheap Hosts / registrars. There is always a catch.
Cold because it's not actually free.
Hosting is cheap nowadays. I have a reseller account which I mess about with for sites for myself and friends and could offer anyone here email, webspace, cpanel, mysql, Fantastico etc.. on reliable uk servers for £12 year. Ive yet to hear of the servers going down!
PM me if u r interested :)
I've got 3 sites hosted with these guys, and never had any problems. Their support is also top shelf. You could do a lot worse than these guys.

One years hosting + domain name for £10.58. Possible £10 quidco bringing total down to 58p!

With you can now get a years hosting plus a domain name for £10.58. (This is inclusive of a £9 setup fee). Plus if you go through quidco you can get £10 cashback bringing the total down to

Can't believe people are voting COLD for such an awesome deal! I was doing some research over Budget Hosting and this one turned out to be FREE almost.. !!

One Year Hosting + Domain (.com) = £10.58! Quidco already tracked for £10.. making it 0.58.. even if qudico doesn't track I don;t mind as its still a bargain for £10.58! You have to notice something,. you get £50 Google AdWords on top of this.. which makes this a hott deal..!!

Only con is you have to cancel your account 35 days before and if you want to move your domain elsewhere you loose your hosting.. so be prepared for it!

I signed up with netfirms (exactly one year ago) for $10 for the year. That came with 2 free .com domains as well and storage was 250GB. (ie £5)

Have netfirms changed their pricing? Their website shows $10 per month and not per year :(

Do they offer whois aliasing with the package or as an add-on?
And has any one transferred a domain from do they make it hard?

I asked them about whois protection (using their live support) before I signed up. They don't offer it on .com addresses but offer it on and others for free. Best asking them for specifics if you're interested. As for domain transfers, no experience here sorry.
Been with for about 6 months now, cannot fault them one bit. The live chat help is very good- staff always been very helpful with any problems or questions I've had. A very good deal for the price. Voted hot

What the OP has done wrong here is not include the £9 setup fee. Thats missleading.

I failed to do so when I originally posted because I was unaware of it. However, within 30 minutes of posting I changed the title to what it is now, how is that misleading?
It clearly says how much it will cost you for the year without quidco (that includes the setup fee!!) and then how much it will cost you if you get cashback.

I think a lot of people are voting cold without really looking at the deal, they're just seeing the bad posts on the first page (because of my original mistake) and voting cold.

1 Year Domain and Hosting with - £9+vat including setup fee £10.58

That's not at all bad.
Worth a look... Cheers op!
What's the annual charge after the first year, meaning is is likely to stay around the £10 mark?

looks like 90p a month (presuming plus VAT) and domain name charges so if you say around £20 per year after first year
