I agree with this, but I have never had an issue with the OnePlus brand.

These so called cheap Chinese phones are starting to get quite expensive

Won't be long before they are the same price or only a few £'s cheaper than the market leaders

I don't understand why they have brought this out when the OP3 is only 5 months old, I have the OP3 and it's the best phone I've ever owned but there's not enough to make me upgrade to the OP3T, I just hope this is not OnePlus starting to get like other Chinese smart phone brands with a new model every 6-8 weeks and the previous version getting forgotten when it comes to firmware and security updates because if that's the case I think my OP3 would be my last OnePlus device.

That's business and greed unfortunately. Things grow in popularity because they are cheap, demand grows, brand becomes popular, prices go up.
Exact same thing happened with the nexus.

As for this deal. It's rrp and you can't even buy it. And what are one plus thinking bringing out a new phone when they can't even stock the old one.

Dont be silly, there are absolutely tons of cheap Chinese phones out there but apparently, if one of these manufacturers dare to go premium which should rightly increase cost, we get nonsense comments like this.

At least oneplus can get their device to the UK for an official launch close to the US, ZTE could not bother with the axon 7, LG didn't bother with the V10 and V20.

If only the likes of xiaomi could release their phones in the west on release day....

Sort of, the Nexus brand started off fairly expensive, then got cheaper with the Nexus 4 and 5 and then got more expensive again with following devices.

The original Nexus One wasn't cheap IIRC. Without doing the maths, I reckon it was probably a ~£500 phone in today's money. I could only find the US launch price, which was $529, or ~$620 with VAT added on.

So my comment is nonsense you say, well seeing that the deal has gone ice cold then that would suggest that I'm not the only one to think along the same lines.

The worst thing about this is that the OP4, which might actually be a worthwhile upgrade over either the OP3 or the OP3T, will now likely be £450+ in the UK, it wouldn't surprise me if it was closer to £500. I certainly can't see them lowering the price from £399, all other OP devices (excluding the X, which was never meant to a flagship phone) have cost more than their predecessor.

All that said, if OP do go premium with their pricing, someone else will likely step up to fill the "not quite flagship, but amazing value" marketplace.

Issue with 5s plus is not all UK LTE bands are supported , especially 800 which is required for VoLTE..where the provider uses LTE channel for voice.

My guess is no, so your comparison holds little water.

Doubt they are expecting many to jump from OP3 just making sure they have a SD821 phone like their local competitors.

Arhh managed to delete my last post trying to edit it on my phone lol.

One plus 3 was £299 with the latest chipset. Went up to £329 due to brexit.

But £399 is a ridiculous price increase for what amounts to same phone with the now latest chipset :&(

Stuff magazine have voted this the No. 1 phone. Cant argue with the price compared to other top brand phones. Hot!!

I'm looking for a cheap phone for my mother but know it must have a fingerprint reader and 3GB Ram. The cheapest is the Moto G4 Plus which is £229. For this £, might as well go OP3 as the specs are far superior.

For the £336 I paid for my OP3, I don't think anything else comes close. £400 for the new version is getting a little steep though.

A lot less - i.e. just £135.99 will get you those :)

When the OP3 was first release it was £309 not £299 and due to Brexit OnePlus increased it to £329.

£359 should be the real UK price, considering the US price of $439. As it is, anything but a deal...
Good phone and specs though...

Why would you add VAT? That is the RRP in the US and in the UK

And why do you believe that to be the case? $439 is ~£352 or ~£422 with 20% VAT.

Why don't people understand that most (all?) US prices are quoted WITHOUT sales tax (their version of VAT), due to the fact that sales tax rates differs from state to state?

How did you get £359? Most of the USA pay VAT. If you convert $ to £ without adding 20% VAT obviously it'll be much cheaper. They pay around 10% VAT as far as I know, but it varies.

If this phone had Cyanogenmod available for it I'd be all over it for £136. Sadly, you are stuck with the **** Huawei skin which is awful and don't bank on updates. (I speak from experience.) For me, that means I'm back to the £229 Moto G4 Plus.
