HUGE spec for the money.
Great review at Stuff.tv.

Be Warned: The only potential dealbreaker is that the One doesn’t play nice with 4G on all UK networks. That’s because it doesn’t support Band 20 LTE. What does that mean? If you’re on EE or Three, you’re good to go with 4G. Any other network - Vodafone, O2, Tesco, etc - you’ll be limited to 3G speeds.

no card slot and non removable battery is a no no for me even at this price.

Personally I feel that 64GB is more than enough and the high capacity battery is good enough too..

Colour me confused. What is the invite all about? Sorry if that is a daft question. :|
The phone could only be obtained by receiving an invite to buy it, it was not possible to buy it from the manufacturer without it.

What a great business model!

Actually, it is a pretty good business model, especially for us consumers. It means they didn't have the huge initial outlay costs of making a massive stock for regular sale. They also relied on social media and viral marketing, rather than spending millions on advertising etc. All this means is that the saving can be passed on to us, the consumer, allowing us to get a phone with specs that match £500 devices, for half the price.

It's a good phone, the size takes some getting used to, but loving how it can do so much with ease, and little hit on the battery life.

Thanks for answering. The manufacturer obviously trying to drum up interest by implying exclusivity, all a bit bonkers really. Nice looking phone though. :)

If you saw the thread asking for invites you would have seen how good it was!

They were aiming to build a community, it's what they say at least.. anyways I have the phone with me for 3 months now and I never regreted the buy. For me it is the best phone ever and I had a lot of them. The cyanogen mod is superb, there is no useless software installed, you can customize a lot of things.. all in all I would recommend it to all.

Yeah had mine since Sept and loving it. No bloatware and high spec makes it nice and zippy. The material they use on the back is weird though - its got a 'furry' feel to it!

What a great business model!

They only had a $300 advertising budget worldwide.

It's a great phone. Worth a lot more than the asking price.

BUT, 4G only works with Three and EE. I'm on Three and it's been great.

Hi, I have been looking for a new phone to upgrade to from my Nexus 4

I'm currently trawling the web to find out but if anyone can help me that would be great.

Does this phone run pure Android like the Nexus phones or is it a version of?

Really tempted.

Surely 4G will just work like every other phone and will be area dependant?

No. The radio in the OnePlus only supports certain frequencies. It does not support any of the 4G frequencies used by Vodafone or O2.
#20
Can't wait for their TWO and hopefully it's a smaller size device...

I have this phone. the OS is fantastic and it does not disappoint in most apps. only one i really have problems with occasionally is the phone but that may just be me?

Wow. I was impressed from hearing about this months back and almost bought one with my invite, glad I didn't now. Bit of a deal breaker really.

What's the cost for UK delivery? Does it come unlocked to UK networks? Hopefully cheap (or free) for both.

And more importantly, link?

Nope, it is not capable of connecting to 4G on either Vodafone or O2 as it does not support the Bands Necessary...

Nil? Can I ask what you are basing this on?

how do you buy this phone? on the website the word 'BUY' has no hyperlink attached to it? and when you click how to buy it still gives the 'invite' instructions!
#31
Great phone, had mine for a few months now with no issues.
#32
Brilliant phone for the price and spec as already mentioned above :{

As for the 4G, for anyone that is *really* concerned, just wait for the new oneplus2 or new samsungs, which will have the 808 or 810 chipsets... and all the frequencies for lte-a

Also as Hutchison Whampoa [Three's UK owners] will no doubt be buying EE/Orange/T-Mobile, would not be too worried, as the coverage for VF/O2/Everyone else is not really an issue, as they normally have none!!

I used to think this with phones. But batteries last ages now and with dropbox, spotify and similar who needs extra space. I never once changed a battery and never once upgraded the memory card.

They don't let UK residents buy on the german one as they want to rip you off. Once they make the price equal then it'll be a good deal, saying that I wouldn't buy one as there's been way too many complaints and I'm not as amazed by the price as others seem to be. Keeping in mind its 229 for the 16gb with no expandable storage.. I bought an xiaomi mi3 16gb for 145 pounds and there isn't much difference in the specs.

If you're tied into O2 and Vodafone then yes. If you're OK with Three or EE then it's not a problem.
