Google checkout may work only on home delivery orders. £39.99 for warehouse collection or £34.98 delivered via Google checkout

I bought one of these sets about a year or so ago from Ebay, about the same price.
I cannot fault them - no problems so far - beats wired phone extensions all over the house.
Go for it its a good price for 4 phones.

Has anyone had an email off Empire about this i got the google email but nothing so far from Empire. Also i don't think Quidco works when going through google nothing showing on mine yet It usually only takes a couple of hours to show.
#23
Yes, I got e-mail from Empire yesterday saying they failed to contact me at phone number I supplied (they couldn't have tried very hard!) so gave me a number to contact them to arrange delivery, which I have and its being delivered tomorrow via Amstrak between 9-5.30

Received a telephone call from Empire last night & mine was delivered@ 10.00 this morning. Excellent service! :) Forgot Quidco though.:whistling:

Just had a call from empire and was told all they have left are faulty and going back to the maker.they have taken them off there website,They will refund my money.anyone else had a call.
#26
Yeah just had the same phone call - phones no longer available - how annoying! Can't seem to see them on the Tesco website either?

Anyone have any similar deals for a good set of phones?
#27
I ordered mine on Tuesday Night and I got a phone call from them on Wednesday to arrange delivery for Thursday, however, I asked if I could leave it until Friday and the man on the phone told me that they had over sold the phones so I might not get them if I left it until Friday. I suspect that is what has happened with all of the orders which have been cancelled. So I had mine delivered this afternoon at 1pm. I too didnt receive any emails from Empire Direct and only from Google.

I don't believe you will have a delivery problem, but I do have sympathy for thase that had there orders cancelled!:x

Seems to be a very hit and miss affair their ordering system to say the least.

I agree not at all fair on the people whom had their orders cancelled.
#31
Watch these appear back on there website in a week or two at a higher price.Wouldn't suprise me.
#32
Anyone still wanting a new set iv'e just been down to Tescos and there selling the Onetel Sigma 2400 quad set for £34-97p these were £40 last week as far as i can see does everything the empire one does caller id answer machine etc etc, ive bought a set and it looks spot on,Even has normal aaa rechargeable batterys so when the batterys die you can stick another set in instead of throwing the lot away.I would ring Tescos first they had a pallet of these last week down to the last 8 today. Also it was a tesco extra store doubt if the smaller stores sell these.
#33
hrm. Mine arrived, plugged in... and singularly failed to get it working at all. There is perhaps something in the 'all of these are faulty and going back to the manufacturer' post.

Having said that there is every possibility that it's me being dim but so far...

* Cant register a base station
* Cant make any handsets register to an existing DECT base station

aside from that.. it all looks peachy!

Mine arrived yesterday as promised, charged up and everything sems to be working fine.

Well pleased! :)
