*These have been relisted* http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ONITSUKA-TIGER-Mens-Sakurada-Trainers-WHITE-BLUE-/251591651678? Received these today for boyf, great price for Onituskas. The ebay description is below, though they definitely have nylon uppers (see updated pictures below), not canvas as stated. Hope it's useful to someone!

Delivery was fast too: ordered 9pm on Wednesday and received them on Friday morning.

Canvas (*they are actually nylon uppers) Onitsuka Tiger lace up trainers with contrasting panels and a herringbone design sole. These trainers feature logo detailing on the tongue and heel.

"Classic Retro Runner new for Autumn Winter 2012.
SAKURADA gets its name from the sakurada gate located in the famous jogging area in Tokyo. Based on a model developed in 1981, the styling of the upper is simple. It used to be an ideal jogging shoe thanks to the cushioning of its EVA heel wedge and functional herringbone design outsole." - From proselectdirect website.

Ordered, many thanks!

Came so close to going for these but just can't do it, the material of the upper is a deal breaker for me. I got a pair of puma's in the past that are the same build as these, and they made my feet really sweaty and they crease after being walked in for a while.

A real shame as I like everything else about them and it's a great price. Heat added, thought I'd put my experience here in case it helps anyone

I looked at Flannels' ebay and regular online shop before I posted (boyf doesn't like these ones, but it's all individual taste), these are a different model with a different sole and uppers.

The black Vulcan Onitsukas definitely look canvas if you zoom in on the picture: http://www.flannels.com/onitsuka-tiger-vulcan-trainer-114615?colcode=11461503 (size 9 showing in stock on here, but not on the ebay listing :|)

On my hunt for Onitsuka Tigers the other night, I found some on Branch309 that might be useful (men's) £25, one £30 option: http://www.branch309.co.uk/results.aspx?st=onitsuka%20tiger#g=3,6|Mens,&c2=&c=&p=0,999&b=&sz=&m=&o=&st=onitsuka%20tiger&c3=&c4=&s=&ex=&kwtype=c&page=1&

Only one women's OT option at £25 (special edition Liberty print) but I love these: http://www.branch309.co.uk/results.aspx?st=onitsuka%20tiger#g=1,4|Womens,&c2=&c=&p=0,999&b=&sz=&m=&o=&st=onitsuka%20tiger&c3=&c4=&s=&ex=&kwtype=c&page=1&

Delivery at Branch309 is £3.50 or Free for orders over £50, so it doesn't work out quite as cheap.

Size 10 and 11 OOS from the ebay store. The strange thing is, all sizes still show on Flannels' website, but I'm not sure if it will say Out Of Stock at the payment stage? Worth a try?

It does say use code FREEPOST but I'm not sure if that applies to everything. I know the free postage offer is only for a limited time with Flannels.

All gone, at least on the ebay store anyway! Hope you enjoy your trainers :)
#32
What is the fitting like? Are they a small 10 like Adidas?

Hard for me to say but boyf seems to be a 10 in most shoes and is a 10 in these trainers, so they seem true to size.

The packaging was akin to Amazon's (ie, OTT) but it ensures it gets there intact :)!

Apologies for the lazy cut-and-paste:
Brand History
In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka founded Onitsuka Tiger, the forerunner of ASICS today. Mr. Onitsuka passionately believed that sport not only reinforced the physical health, it also taught young people to observe rules, discipline and manners. Since Onitsuka Tiger began back in 1949, it has gone on to become an iconic, global 'sports-fashion brand with a unique Japanese sports heritage. Today Onitsuka Tiger represents the forward-looking face of modern, metropolitan Japan.
Mr. Onitsuka started out trying to make basketball shoes, betting that the sport was about to take off in Japan. His initial attempts ended in failure, but on a hot summer evening in 1951, he found inspiration while chewing on a salad of cucumber and cold octopus. He realized that if he could mimic the concave shape of the octopus' suckers in rubber, he could create a shoe capable of gripping a basketball court, allowing the wearer to stop on a dime.
......Onitsuka Tiger....... was worn by the Japanese Olympic basketball team in 1956 and generations of Japanese gym class students. In 1977, after merging with two Japanese clothing makers, Onitsuka changed his eponymous company's name to Asics, an acronym for the Latin motto 'Anima sana in corpore sano' — a sound mind in a sound body.
