If you've ever looked into home cinema you would have found out about Onkyo, one of the leading producers of AV Receivers - I've been using one of their AV Receivers for some time now bought from Richer Sounds and it is excellent - I wouldn't even put Onkyo and Goodmans in the same breath!
#9
Reserve and Collect is probably available from their Stornoway store only....

I have now had two Onkyo receivers, sold one and got a Yamaha costing a £1000 and then went back to Onkyo.

Mentioning Goodmans and Onkyo together is like comparing a Ford to a Audi.

Good deal, I'd go for it if the wife would let me.
#14
I think some people are not getting what I hope was a joke reference to a previous thread about another Onkyo product. Is this a symptom of the lack of smilie feature or just a very dry humour from Dantooine?
#15
I can't believe some haven't heard of Onkyo? They're a great brand
#16
No its just the joke is so old now, who cares

Folks, this is obviously in jest!!! X)

I have an Onkyo TX-SR605 and love it but I'm not one of these people blinded by brand loyalty. I'd much rather have a Sony BDS370 for £100, even if they don't match aestheticly.

The Onkyo TX-SR606 sold extremely well off the back of the 605 even though the competition had caught up and surpassed Onkyo.
#23
As per PoisonJam above wouldn't the BDS370 be a better option?.....I have yet to get a Blu Ray player and was prety happy with the features on the Sony (mostly the ability to stream from NAS drive)...does this one do the same?
#24
£120 for an unheard of brand blu ray?

Representing the first generation of A/V receivers to handle both video and audio in high definition, the TX-NR905 and TX-SR875 decode studio master-quality sound using the Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio codecs. These two receivers are also the first to incorporate the video processing power of HQV Reon VX and enable you to have a blonde porn star wife with go-faster stripes.

Bless you all, you don't see the irony of it do you, but then again neither would I in your position. Just ask the now world famous Loughborough Guy (who Onkyo should now be using in their marketing!) about his legendary post regarding and Onkyo BD player (can't find the link to it now).

Think of Onkyo and for many of us now in this site, we can't help but think of Loughborough Guy!

Oh by the way, if you're stuggling editing your posts, you're probably using Firefox like me (or possibly any other browsers besides IE). I've had to open up IE8 to edit mine. Come on HUKD, get your act together!

i'll be honest and say i've never heard of the brand before these deals, but no i don't use loads of AV equipment as its only in my bedroom and i sit and watch tv 2 metres away!

although im tempted by this deal my question to you awesome techies out there is this;

Is it worth getting if your not going to back it up with surround sound and all the other gubbins or is it better to go with a lesser cheaper model?
