I was waiting for this to come back in stock for ages, but then went Richer Sounds and got the HTX22HDX where the amp and woofer are in one. Suits me better without the need for a seperate amp and woofer for space - but this is an absolute bargain. Onkyo and Yamaha being the best setups you can get, £200 for a 5.1 is super cheap.

Some of them are wind ups mate, but some are shockingly not - you know like people that buy an iphone as everyone else has one, or a Sony because everyone........you know I cant be bothered to type the rest ;-)

Very hot.
Bought mine for £300 from Richer Sounds a week ago, although the appeal was more the cut-price warranty.

urgent helped needed was hoping to get the sony htas5 or whatever there called because of the connectibility with the hdmi (so its just blu ray/xbox to speaker via hdmi ) is this the same for this bit of kit???also finally is this better than that sony kit????

thanks all

cmon guys i need your techy knowledge!!!!!! it would be typical if they sold out quickly
#18
I prefer my 1980's alba hifi.

Only kidding.

Yeez - I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but this has 3 HDMI in sockets so you can connect the xbox/blue ray/etc to the amp, then the amp is connected to the speakers. You can't connect HDMI to the speakers.

I bought this from Richer Sounds about 6 months ago, great piece of kit, the neigbours downstairs love the subwoofer when its a party night ;)

It comes really well packaged and Its really easy to set up, each cable is colour coded to the specific speaker, a 5 year old could do it.

Dont forget to get an optical cable for SKY though as it won't transmit 5.1 thru HDMI.

looking at buying one of these from richer sounds if they price match. I'm fed up with the standard TV carp speakers! & this seems a reasonable price for an all rounder :)

Few Q's.
Can I turn down the sub? Family sleep in the bedroom above so don't want to wake them up!
Do I need any additional cables apart from the optical for sky? i.e. to connect up the speakers?

Can I also connect it up to my sat system? http://cache.osta.ee/i/auctions/large/62/cd/c26303fcc69a43e0c20983cb296bcd62.jpg

Good price but an issue for me with the below as I don't have any hdmi sockets on my tv. Does the onkyo also suffer from the same issue?

---------------------
No this product IS NOT compatible with Sky HD, SKY HD causes HDCP copy protection issues when connected to the HTAS5.1 via HDMI. You can use it with SKY HD but have to connect your SKY HD box direct to your TV via HDMI to get video, and then connect your SKY HD via optical output to the HTAS5.1 to get audio through the AS5. This means that you will need to juggle multiple remotes. Far from ideal and SONY do not make this clear in their specification or advertising which they should do as they are making such a big thing of this being 3D ready.

Cancelled my order also - wont be using Pixmania again
#32
strangely enough this is back in stock - but people have had their orders cancelled?
#33
bunch of cowboys - will avoid !
#34
I bought one last time to use with PS3, but when set up to use 1080p the screen constantly flashes black which is a real issue, this didnt happen when just connected to my tv. The sound is awesome though.
#35
Bought this for 219 € two weeks ago at a local store, brilliant set! Well worth the upgrade from my Sony 5.1 set.
#36
Deathstar, more like.
You know what, I can’t even be bothered to check if I’ve got the correct meme or not.
#37
Whats wrong with pixmania guys....I bought stuff over the years with no probs...havent bought anything from em for a couple of years though...have they gone downhill?
#38
nice work - been looking for a deal on this one for a whileand was a toss up between quidco and pixmania or best buy. Missed out on the 10% cash back with best buy, however £30 for delivery is a bloody cheek!!!

None the less, HOT item and best do the job with my new samsung LED.

Although it is an unknown brand - probably be crap..........NOT!
#39
can u calibrate speakers via microphone? thx

Upgraded my Sony amp for an onkyo system. Definitely not a no name brand. You can find most cineworld using onkyo. I would recommend this to anyone. Great review for price on what hi-fi for this setup. With 3 hdmi I have mac mini, ps3 and sky running through it flawlessly. Rear speakers needed raising as they are a touch low. The reach of sound is very impressive. Heat added.
