We've always advocated the sonic benefits of a good separates AV system over an all-in-one and now, thanks to the Onkyo HT-S3305, this is more accessible than ever.

Comes with 5 yr warrantee for only £30 extra

At the heart of the HT-S3305 is an AV receiver based on the impressive TXSR308. Like its sibling, the HTS3305 is equipped with 1.4 specification HDMI, making it compatible with the exciting new 3D TV. Even without this advanced feature, the HT-S3305 is still miles ahead of conventional one-box AV systems. The latest and most powerful processing has always been at the heart of Onkyo's receivers, and the HTS3305 is no different. It will handle high-definition lossless audio codecs from Dolby and DTS. This high resolution surround sound processing makes it the perfect partner for Blu-ray with all the potential for audio excellence this source provides.

Matching this impressive receiver to perfection is the Onkyo speaker package. With acoustically balanced speakers all round, the 8cm cone speakers offer a detailed and dynamic sound quality. For added oomph, the passive subwoofer features a downward firing 16cm with bass reflex cabinet.

It's not just the processing power but quality, too that makes Onkyo receivers stand out. Burr-Brown 192/24 DACs for all channels, an advanced 32-Bit Processing Chip and a high power transformer help to give the HT-S3305 class-leading sound quality and an equally impressive 85 watts power output.

It's not just in the area of sound quality that the HTS3305 trounces its one-box rivals, either. In terms of connectivity, this Onkyo system is in another league. Three HDMI inputs and an output let you route your Blu-ray, digital TV and games console through to the TV. Added to this are a wide range of other sockets including twin component inputs for older DVD players and three digital audio inputs. Also, there's Onkyo's unique and flexible Universal Port. Match to Onkyo's optional iPod dock or DAB+ tuner modules and you've got even greater entertainment potential.

Finally, one of the features we like most about the Onkyo AV receivers is how easy they are to set up. A new, overlaid On-Screen Display makes adjusting settings straight-forward while the simple menu logically takes you through the fine-tuning of your system.

If you already have a Blu-ray player and/or PS3/X-Box and want the sound to match the pictures potential, the Onkyo HT-S3305 is your one stop shop.

onkyo is a much better brand for audio and visual product in comparison to sony, you should walk away with your head hanging in shame for making such a ridiculous comment.

Lol. That 1st comment is an inside joke from Loughboro Guy, I just knew someone will say that.
Haven't seen boro guy since, he must be finding this funny and will probably read some more of these blu ray player post to see who else takes the mickey of him.

You could plug a couple of things into your TV directly (eg your consoles) and use a TOSLINK optical cable from your TV back to the AV receiver.

So if you've got 3 HDMI on your TV and 3 on your AVR, you'd have capacity for 5 devices with full-on surround sound (one HDMI on the telly would be taken by the AVR's output).

Pair that with a Logitech Harmony remote and it's still pretty easy to control...

Too right. 5-port AVRs are twice this price without speakers. A TOSLINK costs a few quid online. Harmony for ~£30 quid.

Got this the other day and very happy with it (just fyi).

Got my 360, sky hd, laptop and wii all going through it now.
#29
Yeah but all kidding aside, I wonder if Onkyo are going the way of Sony and trading on their name to badge-up lower-end products...

If this double posts sorry...think this is a much better deal and a more established brand name :-D

Stunning brand. Bought the 308SR @ 219.00 price match from them the other day. Replaced my Harman Kardon and it is damn impressive.

I paid £300 for this with Guitar hero 5 (inc guitar)randomly thrown in when my local PC World closed down 3 months ago...absolutely love the system and whilst this price seems around standard it's really an excellent set.

Since SKY doesn't carry audio (5.1 DTS) over the HDMI cable, I take it you have a TOS link for the Sky box audio, did you find this system was happy to remember that the SKY HDMI input needs to take its audio from the TOS Link, as a couple Sony systems at this price 'Forget' that you wanted sound over the TOS for the SKy HDMI connection.
#36
I know this is off-topic but it's Onkyo related...I ordered the Onkyo HTX22HDX
( http://www.superfi.co.uk/index.cfm/page/moreinfo.cfm/Product_ID/6441 )
a couple of months ago (from HiFix), but afaik it's not yet been released.
HiFix did say that Onkyo were expecting to deliver "mid-June"...but does anyone on HUKD have any other info on the release date for this system?!

TIA!

Aye TOS cable from sky HD into the AV. Still amazes me that in this day and age sky HD boxes need to do this.

Can't remember if I changed it or if it had auto senses / defaulted to the optical, but yes, was first thing I checked ;)

How about one of these plus an HDMI switcher, would that work?

Also does this come with all of the cables needed to get it up and running? I'm so tempted to get the more expensive 608 or something but really could do with saving some cash lately :E So close to ordering it, hmm...

Was so close to buying this today! Had the SR307 for about 6 months and I have been very impressed with it, but the lack of HD audio has got me tempted for this one. I only have £70 yamaha speakers would i really notice any difference? I am hoping not so i dont have to buy this!!
