Deal for the weekend only £299.99 at Amazon great AV and Speaker system......instore deal this weekend only.

Bringing together a perfectly matched AV receiver and speaker pack, the Onkyo HTS3405 gives you quality, separates sound with one-box convenience.

The separate AV receiver comes with two key features that make it ideal for the modern day home cinema. Firstly, all four HDMI inputs and the HDMI output are all 3D compatible. This means that you can connect all your 3D sources up to the HTS3405 and effortlessly switch between them. Secondly, the latest and most powerful processing has always been at the heart of Onkyo's receivers, and the HTS3405 is no different. It will handle high-definition lossless audio codecs from Dolby and DTS. This high resolution surround sound processing makes it the perfect partner for Blu-ray, with all the potential for high definition audio excellence this source provides.

Matching this impressive receiver to perfection is a tailored Onkyo speaker package. With acoustically balanced speakers all round, the 8cm cone speakers offer a detailed and dynamic sound quality. For added oomph, the passive subwoofer features a downward firing 16cm with bass reflex cabinet.

In terms of sound quality, the Onkyo HTS3405 is well ahead of its one-box opponents. Burr-Brown 192/24 DACs for all channels, an advanced 32-Bit Processing Chip and a high power transformer help to give the HT-S3405 class-leading sound quality and an equally impressive 85 watts power output (8 ohms, dynamic power output). Furthermore, the latest Onkyo AV package also comes complete with Audyssey Dynamic Volume and EQ for a more consistent sound quality. One of their functions is to level the sound during commercial breaks, meaning an end to the intrusive ramped-up blare of adverts on commercial TV.

It's not just in the area of sound quality that the HTS3405 trounces its one-box rivals, either. In terms of connectivity, this Onkyo system is in another league. With four HDMI inputs, the HTS3405 is better connected than ever and also comes with an Audio Return Channel. Audio Return means that sound from the TV's tuner is routed back down the single cable from receiver to TV, cutting down the cable clutter. Added to this are a wide range of other sockets including twin component inputs for older DVD players and three digital audio inputs. Also, there's Onkyo's unique and flexible Universal Port. Match to Onkyo's optional iPod dock or DAB+ tuner modules and you've got even greater entertainment potential.

Finally, one of the features we like most about the Onkyo AV receivers is how easy they are to set up. An overlaid On-Screen Display makes adjusting settings straight-forward while the simple menu logically takes you through the fine-tuning of your system.

If you already have a Blu-ray player and/or PS3/X-Box and want the sound to match the picture's potential, the Onkyo HT-S3405 is your new and improved one stop shop.

They don't sell this at Comet...they do sell a lower quality package the same price as this with the Onkyo entry level AV Receiver which goes to show how good a deal this is at the same price as the lesser Comet offering.

Bought this att he lower £199 price a few months ago from Best Buy. Been well chuffed with it and if I could get another at the same price would deffo get again. Still a bargain though as all other kits at the moment seem about £400 upwards.

My only critisism is the speaker connections are the push type, would have preferred the better quality screw type, but hey.

Edit:
My amp is a HTR-380 which was in the 3305 bundle, this one is the replacement.

I cannot believe there are some people so ignorant as to think sony are the be all and end all. Even worse, to proclaim their ignorance with such pride really does beggar belief. good deal and decent price, voted hot

Onkyo are NOT an unknown brand to those who know hifi/cinema surrounds. They are a proper sound manufacturer not a cheap and nasty retailer like Sony. Sony realy are an entry level only make of home cinema surround, thats why you have never heard of Onkyo. I bet you have never heard of Arcam neither ;)

Should be an instant ban for the trolls that tell the 'sony' joke.

That was a great deal and the same deal that Comet have at this price, this is the newer version and higher quality amp with more connections etc. The one you have I also have myself and it is great, I think i posted a deal for it at £199 for bestbuy but I had already paid more for it at RS unfortunately but liek you happy with and it does me a good job for my movie watching.....

Not sure if the £10 will work, it shoudl do in theory as should be an instore price being deal of the day but you will need to call them because sometimes they have higher prices in store....

Good luck
#16
i'll let you know - i'll have to call before to check they've got stock but i might just whip the voucher out at the till and see what they say

The amazon price is now the same by the way (£6.99 delivery though)

Think the rears are about 15 foot, maybe 20, but you can always change them for better cable as theres no connectors on them, just strip the cable and put in the connectors. The Richer Sounds Audio Symphony 200 supposed to be ok cable from Richer Sounds.

Decapitation would be more appropriate than a ban. I'll look in to it.

why did the heat on the bestbuy deal for £269.99 hit 400 odd a few weeks ago, but people not taking a liking to it this time around?

On 26 degrees now and I think the same.....HUKD is just not the same, people vote for all the wrong reasons, almost all positive comments but not much heat, is it worth bothering posting? Maybe people want to find their own deals. Many people here will know where to look for these items but equally many will not so it is good to list but.....

Got the last one in Brum - Thanks :)

Even got the £10 off for VIP.
Should be hotter than this though agreed.

Maybe peeps aint woke up yet after a big night out last night? As I stayed in and saved beer money then it's given me a good excuse to get it. Cheers OP.

Got mine in Newcastle this morning - they wouldn't give me the £10 VIP though!

Personally I would go for a Yamaha if I were you.
The only company that has the expertise to build motor bikes and hi-fi.

But if Onkyo launch a motorbike then I will take back the above comment.

When I first went in (had called and reserved) he tried to charge me £299 for it. Told him that it was cheaper on the web and he suddenly dropped the price. He then knocked just over a tenner off the cable I bought - He did say he couldn't do it off the amp so I told him to do it off the cable.

He also talked me into the 5 year warranty (extra 3 in effect) for £24.99 (which I think was a fiver off too
:)

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't 2 opticals a bit crap?. I have a 10 year old Sony strDB940 which is still sounding amazing, and has 4 optical inputs. Need one for xbox, skyhd, dvd player, ps3,.....
#36
Spotted this this morning, just finished connecting it up, great product for the price, tonnes of inputs.

For info:

None in Lichfield branch (only an ex display)
There were 2 in Leics, I took one... so I assume 1 remains as of 4 o clock today...

I think for most things you connect just via HDMI, though you need the optical (or coaxial) for Sky+HD, with my setup I I'd only use one coaxial for sky and everything else would be HDMI (except the wii which would be component)

Nearly went tot he Lichfield one too, glad I went to Brum now.

Did you take the extra warranty? Seems a decent price and the guy told me if you dont use it, then you can get a full refund on it. Might be able to buy retrospectively too if you haven't, but was a no brainer for me.

For people wondering about cable length

Front speaker cables 3.5m (11 ft), Centre speaker cable 3.0m (10 ft), Rear surround speaker cables 8.0m (26 ft), Subwoofer speaker cable (10 ft).
