With the HT-S6305, Onkyo offers a choice selection of today’s key home cinema features in a superbly integrated and user-friendly package. Four HDMI® 1.4a inputs take care of your high-definition sources and provide compatibility with upcoming 3D video content. Other inputs include a Universal Port for Onkyo peripherals and the UP-A1 dock for your iPhone or iPod. Belying its status as a packaged system, the HT-S6305 brings master-quality HD audio to your living room in the form of lossless Dolby and DTS codecs. What’s more, if you complement the included five-speaker set with two extra satellites, you have the option of powered audio in a second room or the immersive “front height” channels of Dolby® ProLogic® IIz. During speaker set-up, a full suite of Audyssey equalization and room correction technologies ensure a properly balanced soundstage and an enveloping presentation. And when you need to fine-tune A/V settings on the fly, Onkyo’s new overlaid on-screen display makes it easy and seamless. The bedrock underpinning it all is Onkyo’s hallmark high-current power supply and precision-honed WRAT amplification

This is one of my first posts so don't grief me up too much, I'm sure for an extra £20 or so you could get a decent Sony!

cracking price

Im suspicious it could be a Mis price, the amp on this package alone is £250 - £300. Considering this has a speaker system, cabling and apparently an iPod/iPhone dock it's an amazing price

The hts5305b is £279 at the cheapest price I've seen. If my quidco tracks then this will be £10 cheaper with the next model up amp

And with an ipod dock plus automated set-up with microphone (which put me off the 5305).

Thanks for spotting this joeyjoejoe, just got wife-approval to pull the trigger on this one to replace an old Yamaha HTR5640 and Mission FS1 setup.

hi all

i am tempted with this, i was going to go for a all in one system however now i think a separate systems is best

is this a good combo, currently I have a 50" samsung, sky and ps3 all going thru my teles speakers however i want to upgrade to a better sound.

would this do the job

this is one of the boxing day sale items i was in the merry hill store xmas eve and it was £499.99 but the flyer they were handing out had got it down as boxing day £299.99 i had a listen to it through the speakers that come with it and tbh the speakers did sound a bit better than my kef eggs (more detail but not as much bass, though that can be tweaked) i already have a 508 which i paid £299.99 just for the amp so this really is a hot deal and u get the ipod dock too which is quite pricey in its own right!

Cheers for this, finally took the plunge and ordered , quidco has tracked at the full £30. Delivery Thursday for a fiver. Happy days (_;)
#24
Waiting to pull the trigger on this is this the best bang for buck amp plus speakers I'm gonna get sub 300 quid?
#25
Is anyone having difficulty purchasing this. Going through payment screen via topcashback then keeps coming up with a problem with your order. Tried 4 different cards but keep getting same message
#26
Considering the amp this is a very good price. Hot!

Think I'll give it a miss

Great price, RS is another hundred quid!

If only this came with the 708 instead. :(

Thanks 'Jupiter Obscure'
Was about to take the plunge but after reading about the frequent popping noise at avforums, I think I'll also pass.

Never heard of sony, although someone I know has recommended a Pioneer but I have never heard of them either.
I think I will go with Onkyo as I have heard of these...X)

Smoking price, arrived the other day from Peter Tyson at £400 so that will be going back unless they price match.

Thanks very much for the link. You saved me a lot of hassle returning it by the looks of it. Appears that they are a faulty batch. Shame.

Was considering buying the Onkyo TXSR-508 Receiver on its own merits for £299 less 15% last week from Best Buy. However, include a 5.1 speaker system and ipod dock for £100 cheaper than anywhere else then it's a defo hot deal. Knock off a £30 cashback from quidco which has tracked means its superb value for £269.
Thankfully I have an alternative active sub if there are issues with SKW-501E sub that comes with the HTP-638 speaker system. Thanks OP.
