This is entry level AV receiver and regular price for what it is.
Beware, that sound quality is not the best, and 9 years old top end receivers beat this by mile. So if buying, invest in better one, like Pioneer SC-1224-K.

How can you compare this receiver with one which costs no less than £600 (No less than 3 times it's value)???

Does this need a dongle for the wifi or is it built in
I nearly pressed the button a few minutes ago but managed to hold off until I have done a little more research!

Well 38% of these receivers have already been reserved with over 4hrs to still go, so clearly it's a popular brand.

I'm all for jokes, but this is simply brand haters spamming without giving valid reasons of why something is not as good. Also why compare a receiver which is three times the price of this one? Show me a receiver, like-for-like in price that has more features and a detailed breakdown of how one is better than the other and then I might understand, otherwise stop spamming this thread.

According to richer sounds website, it looks like the WI-FI dongle or feature is included:-

No one knows, but probably within 7 days to be dispatched and delivered (busy time of year).
As long as you buy from Amazon directly the guarantees will be the same and the return policy is the same, just contact Amazon.

I buy from Amazon EU all the time. Same outstanding customer service . If the item is faulty they pay for the return. The delivery is usually about the same as UK delivery as a lot of Amazons warehouses are based across the water anyway.

I'm not sure how your covered with the Onkyo guarantee, but I know that in the event of your product going faulty, you simply contact Amazon.de. Explain your issue and they will send the packaging for you to send back to them for free.

Here is an email confirmation from Amazon.de which I received a few days ago:-

Thanks for you request about the item "Canon EOS 100D".

As I said, if something is wrong with the item, you can send it back to us for free without any shipping costs its included in our warranty policy's.

We can make then a replacement or we can send your damage item to our repair service, that's all free for you.

Warmest regards from Cape Town!

Warmest regards,
XXXX XXXX

I wouldn't get that Yamaha receiver, but out of the Onkyo and Pioneer, I don't know :)

The other 2 don't have built in wifi and Bluetooth out of the box
The Onkyo is looking good so far, I'm very tempted!

Amazon UK have it up for £299 Onkyo

Considering it's only £190, it's a bargain. However, I would advise you to check and compare with other receivers and go for the one your happy with.

I've got the 529 and demoed the Yamaha before going with the Pioneer.

Sound wise the Pioneer gives a lot more punch, the Yamaha is a bit softer. The 529 is slightly bulkier than the Yam if space is an issue. The 529 also has a fairly decent app available on iOS (not sure about android) and plays AirPlay extremely well. I highly recommend

How does the sony compare ?

I have just pulled the trigger and bought this A/V receiver
Fingers crossed it arrives in good time and without transit damage..

Will go nicely with my New 50" TV
Comes with Tune-in radio from factory which suits me down to the ground,
Going to run it through my Pioneer separates speakers and a Denon centre

My order has just left the warehouse this morning and is now in transit finally
I can't see it getting here for the due delivery date of Thursday 18 - Friday 19th unless they cargo fly it into Stansted or Heathrow
