Decent price but surely you're better off going with a well known brand like Sony or Matsui.

Onkyo are well known, where have you been?

Heat, good price for spec and quality.

My understanding is that Onkyo generally produce higher quality products than Sony (at least at price for price).

Haha... If Onkyo is not better or as good as Sony, they have no reason for their existence :)

There again Matsui - a brand invented by Dixons in the 1980s.......... says it all.

Nope... HDMI 2.1 is on the way ;) It won't be mass market for quite a while though.
It has loads more bandwidth for higher resolutions and refresh rates which is useful for PC gaming.

I've finally entered your realm of AV Receivers after picking up a second hand Harman Kardon AV171 last week. I assumed as it had two HDMI's out it would output different sources to each but it simply mirrors them :(
Anybody know of or care to recommend one with two seperate HDMI out's please? Thanks a lot.

Oh, and am I right in saying Onkyo is just a re-branded Technika?! ;)

I've got a 4k TV and blu ray player I'd like to run to my big floor speakers. The connections on my TV are hdmi (2.2, ARC, 10BIT, MHL), optical and RGB. So this wouldn't be a good buy for me?

Yeah it's ideal, seems pretty well featured for £150.
A couple years ago the elephant in the room was the lack of HDCP 2.2 support but we're through the worst of it with AV receivers... for now :)
