ONKYO TXSR252 £199.00 @ Richer Sounds

£199.00 @ Richer Sounds
£50 discount for an ok brand. If you can't afford Sony quality this is a good price and compromise. Yes I know it's made in China, but they use some of the better components on this.

What a load of crap, Onkyo amps are as good as sony and sometimes better, i take it you own a Sony as only someone who owns a product comes out with such rubbish. Ive had both Sony and Onkyo and can honestly say that Sony are no better just more expensive so if you own a Sony keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better about spending £50 more on a amp with less features.

I've always had Onkyo & I'm currently looking to upgrade. A good price of you don't need all the whistles & bells

would prefer Sony, Yamaha, Pioneer or Denon which are more expensive. However Onkyo are just a little behind the above, in terms of sound and quality but only just. I dumped my Yamaha Receiver a couple of years ago as I watch movies on the tablet and listen to music on Cyrus kit.

However this is a good deal and voted hot, if you really need it.

I think some people still remember the pratical electronics part of soldering your own components to fix the HDMI board on previous models. Hard to get away from that even though build quality on the latest models is pretty good.

depends on what you call budget speakers, http://www.richersounds.com/package/speakers/speaker-packages/pah01309 these are very good for the price and are what I'd call budget speakers, other may dissagree
#18
that wouldn't be my budget, I mean budget budget. <£300.

Would this not be cheaper in DFS?

depends on the size of your room and if you intend watching films at reference level or not.

I'd search for speakers on ebay near your postcode, people often put collection only as they can't be bothered to package and post. Can get some real bargains.

Have a look on ebay at the Q Acoustic 1030 and 1030i range. They normally go sub £100 for a pair so you could make a good speaker setup for £200 for 4 Tower speakers and around £90 for a 2000c centre speaker.
Subwoofers are expensive though so you're looking at £300 for a good B.K. electronics one or £120ish for an SW150 wharfedale.

Cold. For that price you could get a car.
