I didn't see this posted so thought I would share. Amazon are now matching the price that Asda were taking for Only Fools and Horses, great for those who don't live near an Asda or couldn't locate stock. 26 disks with all 7 series, every special, and the Only Fools Story. A cracking price!

Product Description

Here together in one collection is every episode plus the specials of Britain's best-loved comedy series! Crafty cockney con man Derek Trotter (David Jason) dreams of making a fortune, but each dodgy deal and shady scheme always seems to end in disaster. And then there's his family to look after: loveable but hapless kid brother, Rodney; doddery old Grandad; and ex-seafaring Uncle Albert. This hilarious, life-affirming series is one of the most popular on British television, and the annual Only Fools and Horses Christmas specials became as fundamental a British holiday tradition as Christmas crackers and the Queen's Address to the Commonwealth. Only Fools and Horses boasts 13 top comedy awards including two Best Comedy BAFTAs, and the series finale, "Sleepless in Peckham" was viewed by two out of three British households on Christmas Day, 2003.

Synopsis
Lovely jubbly! This all-encompassing box set contains every series and special of the ever popular British sitcom. Join Del, Rodney and all your favourite characters for some classic comedy.

Just ordered thanks alot

Noticed this in my local asda tonight while shopping so picked it up for my parents so that's one present down. Think it was £39.71 but as u say it's finding stock and nothing easier than ordering off amazon and waiting for delivery rather than hunting around in the shops.

Voted hot

people will probably say that this boxset is the edited and cut versions of episodes but for this price u cannot go wrong

I bought this from Asda (Castlepoint, Bournemouth - yes they had plenty of stock) a week or so ago but this deal is just as hot.

For the record yes this version does feature edited versions of episodes BUT there is not an unedited version available on dvd at this point in time!
#6
The box set available in the USA is unedited - I bought it on a trip last year.

But this is still a hot deal for this set so H&R added (-:

The only unedited boxset is the magazine collection.
You can however transfer the VHS to DVD if you want but wont be so good.

The US version is not edited

This link details the UK cuts if anyone is interested:

Read the reviews and you will see:

This set contains the butchered version of Miami Twice
#16

from the amazon reviewer

"However, if, like me, your main reason for purchasing this set is that you get all the episodes of OFAH complete and uncut, then you're going to be disappointed. I can only assume that those who have previously reviewed this set, proclaiming it to be original and uncut haven't yet watched all of it.

The edition of Miami Twice contained in this set is the same edition as released in the UK, i.e Part 1 (the TV episode) and Part 2 (The film - originally broadcast WITHOUT canned laughter) have been edited by chimps into "Miami Twice - The Movie", with bits cut out from the beginnings of the episodes and a new canned laughter track added over the film !

It surely must have cost more time and money to butcher it than just releasing the episodes as broadcast so why do it? No doubt the BBC have some lame excuse about "contractual reasons"."

looks like it has been messed with

In response to some of the posts referring to the US version being uncut it's worth noting the following review from amazon.com which seems to suggest there have been cuts made to the US one as well (although not as extreme!).

http://www.amazon.com/review/RPNVIIP6HRDBP/ref=cm_cr_dp_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B000S2XD9U&nodeID=130#wasThisHelpful

'This set contains all episodes of OFAH, including the specials. It is simply all the seperately available R1 series box sets packaged in a big box. The disc packaging changes between Series 4-5 and Series 6 which makes it look a bit odd, but that's a minor point. The episodes and specials are arranged in more-or-less chronological order throughout the set - not all the specials have their own seperate discs, which probably explains why this set has less physical discs than the UK version.

However, if, like me, your main reason for purchasing this set is that you get all the episodes of OFAH complete and uncut, then you're going to be disappointed. I can only assume that those who have previously reviewed this set, proclaiming it to be original and uncut haven't yet watched all of it.

Yes, this boxset is vastly superior to the pathetically poor UK offering, but there is still no complete uncut boxset of Only Fools and Horses to be had on VHS or DVD. '

To be honest I think that if you've only ever watched it in passing (not repeated viewings) then you're 'unlikely' to realise what has been changed. Although saying that as an avid fan of Red Dwarf (ignoring Series 7, 8 & the abomination that was Back to Earth) then I probably would notice if the beeb changed any of those episodes!

stop, stop, stop with the stupid cuts comments! Everytime a OFAH dvd boxset comes out we have this same conversation. The british sets are still good, just got some edits. A new boxset wont be out for years, at this price the boxset is a steal so no point in voting it cold, the show is probably one of the best brisitsh comedies ever and unfortunately the BBC cant be bothered to give it proper respect. Rate the deal on the fact its a deal not that the boxsets have cuts.

i still rate this boxset. Easily worth it at this price. voted hot!
#23
I've gone for it anyway. Thanks, OP. Heat and rep added.

Far better than the other prices on the web and enough of the original material is intact for any fan to enjoy. My brother, who this is for, may notice some of the cuts but then again he'd rather have all of the episodes in one compact box set than in multiple packages.

timeless classic. Luvly jubbly!

Amazing price.

I remember collecting these on VHS (33 I think) in chronological order from Britannia about 9 years ago for £12.99 each, I think they were - over £420!

Crazy when I think about it.

I ordered this from Amazon a few days ago for £49.98 delivered as I couldn't get to an ASDA. It was delivered last night. I saw your thread this morning, and after a quick call to Amazon I have a £10.30 refund, "as an exception". Great post - much appreciated.

You plonker Rodney!

This price is superb!!! I eventually got mine on ebay about 6 months ago for around £50 (after waiting very very patiently to get such a price!), so to see it even cheaper hassle free on Amazon is a fantastic deal considering the huge box packed with DVDs!

As I'm a big fan I was anxious about the cuts, but it really isn't as bad as people make out, and I would say that there are only 2 examples where it is noticeable - in The Jolly Boys Outing and A Royal Flush (and the latter is one of the very rare "poor" episodes anyway)...so it really isn't too bad and it makes me wonder if the people doing the moaning have actually seen the whole series for themselves, or just read about the cuts and assumed they are drastic.

In my opinion this is the greatest comedy series ever made and there really is no excuse for not owning this collection - this really is a little treasure chest of timeless genius that will probably never be bettered.

Scorching hot!!! ;-)

I agree, we are getting a great boxset at a great price, you only have a few tiny things changed which doesn't really effect the humor and enjoyment. And also the fact that you can't get a non-cut boxset as well.
It's pathetic every time a OFAH deal is posted.
#32
Hot. Great price. I'm tempted but they constantly on G.O.L.D everyday
#33
I have the US version cost a fortune. I think its the first couple of episodes that are uncut then the rest are pretty much the same as uk. The only reason i believe they are uncut is because of the shock on my face when i heard some of the things that they said.

AMAZON are legends, theyre gonna credit me the difference in cost a month over buying it there!!
#35
Voted cold. As much as I love OFAH, this boxset has been badly cut, poorly edited and most people who buy it are disappointed. Why have they done this? We see it unedited everyday on UKGold..... mad

Really? Who did you ring/contact to do that? Everything i've bought off Amazon in the last month has dropped in price.

I have 2 problems with this.

1. As I said before, criticisms of the editing are greatly exaggerated, and across 26 DVDs and countless hours of episodes there are probably only about 10 mins of cuts across the entire series (if that), most of which are individually insignificant and NOT obvious. I was certainly not unhappy with my purchase and I doubt the casual fan would even notice, let alone feel disappointed.

2. It should only be voted cold if the specific deal for the item is poor, regardless of the quality of the product. I am new to the site and I've grasped that concept so I don't know why others find it so hard. You simply cannot find this anywhere else at such a low price (as far as I know) and is great value for money even if you're a die hard fan that would notice the handful of individual scenes missing, so it's smoking hot all the way for me :-)
