I bought one of these when they first came out. It is an appalling piece of equipment.

Very bad build quality, I had 3 faulty ones before I eventually gave up and got a refund. And the upscaling is terrible.

Mine seems pretty well built (for the price!) and worked fine out of the box.

Admittedly the upscaling isn't top class but it's not bad.

I have one of these and it works fine. Its worth noting though that You do have to switch on the upscaling from the menu otherwise it will play in normal def.

Cold from me.

£6 more will buy you a refurb Toshiba SD370 from Superfi. Yes a Refurb but 5 times the player over one of these.

tbh i would have thought that if the upscaling is not much cop then it's a total waste of £24?

"Total waste of £24"?
You know where I can get a cheaper divx player?

Sod the upscaling and hdmi. I want a cheap divx player for the kids' bedroom (on a 21" SD CRT telly) and this'll do the job just fine.
