bunch of **** this lot

they just buy junk in bulk then service it and fly out via ebay or retail counter

real name is specialist computer holdings and they have many subsidiaries
#5

#6

IT247's description is wrong. The CPU should be a N450.
banned#8
That's a great price imo.

I'm realy interested in one of these but I'm being put of by the conflicting information on the website the closing down sale page states it has a 250GB HDD and the model # LX.PE602.046 relates to a Acer Aspire Timeline 3810TZ Laptop.

I also did a google search for manufacturer part number listed for this item LX.PE602.046
And it came up as Acer Aspire Timeline 3810TZ Laptop with 13 inch screen. They should get there details right before listing.

Wouldn't Android with a non-touchscreen suck? Or am I missing something?

With no optical drive, how do you load your existing Microsoft Office Software?

LOL! Used it already, its a bit strange cos you keep getting tempted to touch the screen (as a force of habit).

Android, would it work better with a touchscreen or without? Theres only one way to find out...

The dual booting looks quite cool, I wonder if you could mod it with a DIY touchscreen?
(like this for example)

now that would all depend on what type of touchscreen :P resistive or capacitive ? LOL

In actual fact, I have used and Advent Vega with a KB and mouse and its pretty good tbh :)

you can type faster, less mistakes, and the screen stays clean :D

Voted HOT - if it's exactly as advertised then this is a bargain !

I've bought from them before. Some of the best customer service I've ever had (although a quick google search reveals that isn't the case for everybody). The discrepancies in the listing and the fact that it's a closing down sale are a bit of a turn-off, but if you pay by credit card you're protected to some degree. I say go for it. This is a great little machine for the money.

Thanks for the link, makes this a viable alternative to something like the Advent Vega for just under £220, with the added bonus of Win7.
Does anyone know of any UK retailers selling this item for around the same price or has anyone here tried fitting and using one of these?

No worries, personally I havent tried it although there are some posts on the web of people having done it with other netbooks. You really have to know what you are doing tho as there is solering involved and im not sure if the touchscreen would be natively supported by Android, would be very cool if it worked htho!

Might not be as good without a touchscreen but it starts up and shuts down really quick which is the nice part :)

1g ram on win 7?must be joking!

My Acer 5100 with 1gb (and 128mb of that being shared by graphics) works fine and this is with Windows 7 Ultimate installed. Where do people get this kind of rubbish from. I have a HP 5100 with 512mb of ram also running Windows 7 ultimate on and this works fine.
