I'm unable to use Shopto for some reason, every time I try to register my card it says it failed authorisation. I have no problem using any of my cards elsewhere. I've read about all of the fraud claims about this company also.

Then you would have read it came from a German forum who translated a story about a credit card hack in AUS, that when translated they mis-read and said it was from ShopTo, and the only reason the Germans had even heard of shopto is because they post abroad.

Read the story here: http://forum.shopto.net/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4910

Actually, I never read that. The comments I read (which ran into hundreds), were by people on forums, etc., who claim to have had there details stolen. I read that it was shopto employees (I thought it unlikely as it would be a rather stupid thing to do), never realised that the situation had been resolved fully.

This credit card hack story is getting very boring now, the fact is thousands of people had there cards blocked whilst their banks reissued new cards. This was due to the a security breech of the payment gateway that in my case barclaycard use. The confusion arises as when you phone your bank as a security measure they will normally ask you to name your last purchase which alot of people would answer shopto.
Now people just presume this means "Oh it must be shopto that caused this" which is obviously incorrect.
So if you don't want to shop with shopto.net as you feel they did or did not do something to secure your card then I would suggest you dont use your cards at all with any retailer as your bank will still use a payment gateway where the security breech actually took place!

P.S I am not affiliated with shopto in anyway, I'm just a consumer like yourselfs I'm just getting tired of this being brought up everytime someone posts a deal involving shopto.

if you are worried you can always use paypal.

This game is getting 8/10 on reviews. Modern Warfare 2 is probably going to get 9/10 or 10/10. Better to save your money I think.

If you read the reviews you'll see it's a completely different game from COD.

Good price for this so hot from me.

However I can't shake the feeling that this is going to be one of those games that just plummets in price shortly after release so I'm going to hold on for a couple of weeks a see what happens.
#15
Been looking forward to this for ages.
#16
I remember people having their cards blocked, but mostly I remember many, many people stating that tickets, top-up vouchers, etc. had been purchased on their cards without their consent. Not sure if all of these cases are true or not.

I am unable to use Paypal as a card must be registered with them first.

Argos previously had this game at roughly £37. After the 20% discount if worked out at £31 -£32. Unfortunately It has now now, like most of their games, been jacked up in price and is now about £43.
#17
Had this on pre-order with them for a while.

Defo gonna be an ace game.
#18
I was going to get this game until I found out the Multiplayer is pants, great for single player but they have totally neglected Multiplayer.

BE WARNED

If you Pre-Order a game at Shopto.net, they "sometimes" increase the price, resulting in a higher than expected price on your pre order.

They do not honour price at time of order, only time at dispatch.......
#20
eh!! I thought multiplayer woulda been the dogs danglies. Was looking foward to this too.
#21
It has co-op, for upto four players I think. Out next week . It's probably closer to Socom than Cod for gameplay, not too close I hope.

Console Multiplayer is 4 v 4 (yes thats right 4) , it also uses a lobby system, the graphiocs for MP have been dumbed down and the maps are nowhere near the size as the MP on the PC which has also had the MP gimped (no dedicated servers its using peer to peer , welcome to lag city).

Great price but if like me you just want it for the MP then I suspect you might be disappointed

best price I have found as well

Theres no proof of this on the consoles. All the gameplay videos and level walkthroughs suggest that MP is very much a big part of the game. 4v4 is pretty good if you ask me, its not trying to be the CoD, its more tactical.

i guys,

We’re delighted to announce this morning the introduction of our new pre-order price guarantee - from now on the price you pre-order a product for is the price that we’ll honour.

A perfect example of this is Uncharted 2 which we've sold out of at the cheaper price and had to raise to £37.85, but everyone who pre-ordered at £32.95 will still receive it for this. So now it really does pay to pre-order early!

For items that have gone up in price please make sure your card details are correct at the time of release and that you have plenty of funds available as if your pre-order is cancelled due to the card failing 3 times we unfortunately will not be able to re-instate your pre-order at the previous price.

King Regards,

The ShopTo.Net Team

Console gamers are getting 16 vs 16 as well? Its just that 12 on each team will be controlled by AI and ordered around by the players (teams of 4 with 3 AI ordered by 1 player). TBH I think that might make it a bit of a better experience on the xbox with less lag, probably more teamwork and less pillocks running around thinking they are playing COD :) on th PC 16 vs 16 works because players are "generally" more mature

The main thing that it will be interesting to try is the bumper orders system to order around the AI, that will make or break the game TBH. In reveiews that I have read it seems to be mixed with some people finding it a bot cumbersome in a firefight, however to me it seems that the reviews where the reviewers have spent a bit more time with the game are the ones that are more positive about it so im hoping its just that its a bit tricky to start with, but it gets natural after time

I think your crazy for not taking this up, even if it turns out poor you can still cash this in at CEX and get most if not all of your money back.

Three of my friends have already pre-ordered this for £39.99 and they plan on trading it in to CEX or Game if it turns out to be a bad decision, but they will almost certainly loose money.

Far slower, more strategic and more realistic than most modern war shooters – Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising is fairly sure to find an appreciative audience. At its best, it's nerve-janglingly tense as you plot and then implement the next firefight – where decisions you make have very serious consequences. But be warned, it's not a game that gently welcomes those more used to running-and-gunning, and even for the hardcore, there are serious problems with awkward command menus for your squad and bland missions at the top of the list of minus points. Online, with friends, Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising really shows off its best side – and the game is probably best played through co-operatively. If you like playing co-op, or you don't mind trading moments of frustration for a smarter, slower war experience, this is recommended.
