Taking a small step into the future, Red River depicts a fictional conflict with contemporary geopolitical themes, which will unfold over three distinct acts in both single player and drop-in-drop-out co-operative play for up to four players online. Faced with new counter-insurgency combat and the returning threat of the Chinese PLA, players will feel the tension, brutality and carnage of modern conflict from the perspective of a marine fireteam on deployment in a hostile country, thousands of miles from home.

Building extensively on the successes of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Red River brings wide-ranging advancements including a deeper narrative-led campaign, streamlined inventory and control system, a refined enemy and squad AI system, player class roles including customisable XP upgrades and loadout choice, close-quarters combat, new air support options and comprehensive tutorials.

# Go closer to the experience of the US Marines on campaign with the ultimate tactical infantry shooter
# Stand together with 4 player drop-in drop-out online co-op multiplayer in campaign mode and standalone Fire Team Engagements
# Become immersed in an engrossing narrative which unfolds over three acts in campaign mode
# Play as Grenadier, Scout, Rifleman and Automatic Rifleman classes, each with unique strengths and weaknesses for increased replayability
# Earn and spend XP on weapons, attachments and abilities for each of the fireteam's specialists
# Call in Combat Support such as Mortars, Howitzers and JDAMs, whilst AH-1Z Helicopters and A-10 Ground Attack Aircraft provide Close Air Support

Strongly disagree with above comment! I don't understand why people hate it so much, if youre expecting a cod clone you will be disappointed, if you like your shooters serious, unforgiving and realistic it's a good game. This one is less serious from the looks of it, sped up too. Going to wait for reviews before buying.

oof lets not get me started with realistic! never ending spawning of enemy lol.. i played the ps3 version and what a waste of money i thought it was, thought the aiming seemed completely broken too.. i actually like the things like realistic damage for instance and the fact you can die in a bullet.. but it was just poor for me

yeah it's certainly not the best of games... i just mean i don't think it deserves the kind of absolute hatred it gets! tbh i played it on xbox 360 and didn't enjoy it, got it recently for PC and it's like a whole different game, not sure if that's just my imagination or if it really is a game more suited to PC.

Been playing this all weekend, I like it.
I've seen alot of negatives toward the previous one too (dragon rising), and I disagree with them as well.

It's not a run around and kill people asap game, but more of a slowly slowly catchy monkey type.

The fact that I've played it for longer than 10 minutes is an achievement in itself!

fair do's each to there own, i just remember being sat at the bottom of a slop killing guys and just having them constantly spawn and keep running down the slope was a clunky joke but hey ho might be a different game on the PC, its a difficult for manufacturers to try establish themselves in shooters though ey, i dont envy them
