just been to my local shell petrol station in leeds and was approached by a man working for shell and he said for today only shell optimax is the same price as regular unleaded which was 94.9p a litre. this happen a few months ago as well and i filled up but i though it was a one of, but the guy told me today its nation wide over this weekend. it really does make your car response better i drive a mazda rx-8, its not normally worth 6p per litre more but if its the same price then its much better for your engine as well. This is my first ever post so i hope its ok.

its not normally good to mix the two fuels though unless its going to be a perment thing

Any thoughts on why this is cold? Sounds like a good deal, if the premium petrol is being sold cheaper than usual... voted hot (gulp!)

I don't need to fill up, and use Tesco for the Clubcard points - but will certainly look out in the future - Good Deal - Voted Hot

Baloney.

I saw this just before I had to pop out to the shop and called at Shell about 10 mins ago - Optimax 102.9, regular 95.9.... i.e. no discount.

Original poster has been misinformed...

EDIT: for what it's worth, I noticed yesterday that Sainsburys are doing a coupon for 5p off per litre if you spend £50 in store... in case that's of use to anyone...

Could this be a one-off at your local jay_leeds ??

how can the heat still be going up when it isn't true?

maybe that one petrol station was running low on unleaded and they discounted the premium fuel so as not to lose customers??? anyway, it sure ain't nationwide
