I see this thread has fallen by the wayside a little. I would be interested in getting the laser surgery, however money and nerves have always held me back. I'm just tired of glasses now tbh! Wonder if we can get this thread restarted with a few more opinions from people who have had it done, or maybe are planning on going for it?

really want to get laser treatment on my eyes, but £149 a month seems epensive. Havent read up enoug off it but i'm sure i see a sign in optical express in town before christmas which had an offer of £695 per eye.

I had my surgery in 2007 by optical express and I can highly recommend them. I did lots of research before hand and found that they used the best surgeons and latest equipment.

I have some vouchers which will save you £150 off any laser treatment at Optical Express. I am happy to post it to anyone who wants one! Just drop me a PM here.

I used this code and they told me 2395 for the same treatment. This was Optimax Glasgow, who I woudln't trust to sharpen a pencil, as I had to go back twice for measurements on one machine as it as "playing up"
I went with Optimax and it was £1700 (I think but got other quotes from other at around £3500). Although the half price offer was only suppose to be for the LASIK Wavefront, I got the LASEK Wavefront after some negotiation and its fine. Eyes a bit dry sometimes and a little more sensitive to the occasional wack from a 3 year old. But all in all, very happy. Still doesn't feel right not having to reach for the glasses all the time.
Have some heat. I took my brother to a competitor of Optimax's based in Solihull in May 2008. He had his consultation and procedure on the same day, we were packed in like sardines and there was a lot of waiing around, He was desperate to be rid of his "jam jar" glasses and he had a high prescription, plus other issues. His procedure took 10 minutes and cost £3300. The operation went well and now he is glasses free. After seeing how well his operation went, and unable to afford the same amount. I decided to pay the£395 per eye and went to Optimax in Birmingham exactly 1 week later. Admittedly my prescription was completely different to his, but I cannot praise them enough. The service and aftercare have been exactly the same and I would throughly recommend them.
